I had horrible stutters and frame drops just totally randomly almost every lap  Angry  I have no idea why, as I've not had that happen before and havn't changed any settings before todays races...

Which GPU you have? I Have ATI Radeon and the software currently (even in past sometimes) gives me problems.

For all those that spun at St Mary's, here is my real life version, luckily I escaped, but I still can't see what I did wrong.

https://youtu.be/e9bKbsaTVPE

I think whoever was sat in the back with the party blower/horn

moved mid turn and messed up the weight distribution laugh

j/k about the sound..  nice track toy  Cool
yes the noise from the S/C is an acquired taste! I have probably driven 200+ laps around G/W and compared laps and all identical. Was pushing hard though to try and catch a Cayman GT4.

Wow, what a great move at 3:23!11!!!1!! Impressive!!11!!!

And what a talented driver at 4:05!!!1!!!!1 Great move there mate!1!1 You killed him!1!!! He is still trying to find the way to come back on track!!!11!! What a great fun to race with you!!111 Kiss Kiss

Thanks to you I decided that I won't join any more races with Assetto Corsa on SROUK.

My congrats on fmg and Max Veloce, both way too fast than me yesterday. Unfortunately I would have tried to make you sweat a bit in race 2, but this great champion spoiled my race even yesterday. So I had no fun at all.

https://youtu.be/e9bKbsaTVPE

You jammie bugger! Soo close to removing your nose!

What's that in? Looks vaguely Elise'y?
If so my moneys on not enough throttle over the bump given it's MR, therefore not as much weight over the rear as you had possibly on previous laps.

Big congrats to Max on his pole lap, my car was suffering as the server was lower grip in practice and qually compared to my server laps before the race.
Luckily the race itself seemed to be hotter/grippier so my car came back to me (0.3 secs faster in the race Shocked ), as I got lucky on the start and Matteo then hassled Max for a bit it was relatively easy to pull a small gap and manage it. I actually think the car felt nicer in R1 than it had when practicing so I had a ball Grin

Race 2 went well, I had masses of fun battling up through the pack - with Max generally snapping at my heels and harrasing me.
I had to laugh on lap 2 or 3 when I caught Matteo and Fabri as they both got caught out by the driver in front having some sort of moment in T1 (I think I tapped Matteo as a result - sorry), we then all split like the parting of the red sea around who-ever the other car was.
Once clear I looked right to see Matteo - as expected - and then the blue car of Alexy on his right through the windows. Bugger! I knew 2 wide through Fordwater was possible, but 3 would be daft.
Being daft I decided to play chicken and see if any one else lifted first.... They didn't, so I ended up grass tracking around the outside of the corner, perfectly positioned to see Matteo also run out of track ( I guess I had been on the bit he needed to take the corner without lifting ) and go for a massive drift just in front of me Grin

I got clear of both after the incident at the Chicane, which I hadn't seen clearly at the time - and found myself in an epic battle with Max until I eventually caught back up with Fabri. My first passing attempt failed and put me back in Max's hands, I got lucky on my second as Fabri made a mistake just as I caught him - which pretty much forced him to let me through..

After that I reckoned I had about an 80% chance of catching Kai, as I was gaining at a rate of about a second a lap - passing would of course be another issue.... Then he braked too hard while turning into the Chicane and ended up nose first in the wall, giving me a free kick into 1st.

Those races were an absolute hoot in these cars, a shame that Matteo seemed down on his normal pace last night - although the weird bump into the Chicane didn't help our traditional battle.

Matteo - I'd much rather you used the reporting function than just quit. It does work when people use it. UKGPL is living proof of how effective the system can be when implemented and used properly. To be fair the incident in the chicane is weird rather than dodgy anyway, the only real big problem is that Alexy effectively performed a bump and run when he didn't then wait for you to recover..

You know how much I respect you mate. The real trouble is when someone doesn't understand at all how to stay on track with other cars, and he doesn't. I don't want to bother you or the other guys here, but I'm simply bothered to repeat every time the same thing and I'm quite bored by these episodes with him. I stay on my opinion on the previous race.
When he will quit this place I may consider a return on track.

Have fun for the rest of the series mate. Seems that at least Max can match your pace, so I feel better about my retire now. Not my intention to leave you alone... you know Smiley

Bugger!
Thanks . What should I have done, having a free space on the right and the ability to safely take an internal winning trajectory? Full stop the car?

Why did he continue to move direct straight when it was time to brake and to turn right, having free space there? Should I go straight to the wall?

Good joke but Yeah... Embarrassed Really sorry about it. I've wrote about some earlier. :
"But i must to say very sorry , Jari , for our accident in 3rs lap.  surrender
My all attention was watched the fight between Max and FMG in , as Max swept across the grass in front of me, after him I grabbed a curb and all the attention was there ( in front guys maneuring and what these positioning will be after all) , the car was slightly led to the right, where you were rapidly approaching, although there was no intersection of the machines. I turned to the left at the very last moment , but it was too late, you went into the grass, I drove on. Only by repeating everything was considered in detail and what a pilot  it was...  Embarrassed I apologize again and you can safely protest, I will humbly accept the punishment.  yes "

good to see you all took onboard the comments in the last race about finger pointing in the forum  Roll Eyes If you feel aggrieved by an incident then report it so that a couple of judges can review it.

My own view based on the select youtube vids posted is I think Matteo took a good but risky dive down the inside of Alexey at the chicane and most of us would have been starting to move already to the right as he did. You only had a light contact but Matteos car went into a pendulum swing unfortunately. It was just the worst scenario that it involved these two drivers again.

The melee vid involving several cars was just a racing incident. Any number of these could happen in race 2 when we had groups of wildly moving Alfas jostling for positions with different momentums.

Though will have to say Alexey made a bad move on Jari? (4:05) clip that took him off on the grass. The replay posted makes it look Alexey aggressively blocked him but i need to see it from different angles on the proper replay. But again its wrong of other drivers to post vids of other peoples race mistakes unless it personally included that driver. I am sure many of us could post incriminating short vids of contacts if thats the way we wanted to run the racing here, but its just toxic and pointless unless done via personal pm or the incident board.

As an MSA licence holder I can give you the real world MSA/FIA versions of this - but it's to the mods to determine actual fault here, Srou rules are similar to but not quite the same - hence why we have the court system no one seems to use here in AC.

However, in the first video nothing was done wrong - barring myself bumping Matteo before you arrived, although even then he was bulked by the car he was trying to pass and slowed suddenly himself. Both myself and Matteo then fell off on our own through Fordwater as I commented in my earlier post.

In the second vid Matteo didn't turn in at the normal point because that wouldn't be where you turn in from the middle of the track, had he turned in then he would have hit the inner wall, bounced off and taken you, and probably me and anyone near me out as well. He would also have been unable to turn in any harder as he was heavily on the brakes at the time.
The real world rules state that as lead car he could chose the line - provided he doesn't decide to run you off the road or into the wall (This is referred to as 'racing room' normally).
Just because a car is on the bit of road you'd normally use does not mean you can use it while side by side with someone if they are still there.
In the event contact does happen in a passing situation (accidental or not, and most, if not all, contact here or in the real world is accidental, including this instance in my eyes) cars must redress - I.e. ensure the car they passed because of the contact is given a quick and easy path back to in front of them - once that is done you are free to get back to trying to pass them. (in real racing the car that did the bump might still get penalised, although the redress will normally be taken into account) You were right to slow hard to avoid hitting Matteo while he was sideways but should really have made sure that he could get back passed you as soon as that was safe - this could even have been on the next straight if the traffic behind you was bad enough (and it was pretty bad!).

As I said, it's all for the moderators here to decide on, although I think our rules are probably very similar to the Blue book where possible.

None of this is me having a go/having a dig, but as you asked it would be unfair for me not to explain in full.
