Well that was eventful. For one brief moment I had pole, then everyone else started trying - I ended up 4th on the grid. Got an awful start (I blame the stupid flag man who held it for ages!), then span off and was running about 12th. Gradually worked my way up to 5th, and was pressurising a Ferrari with about 3 laps to go. Then, lost it badly at T1 and in spinning back onto the track crashed into someone else - I'm sorry. I finished 6th.

I've loaded the chassis the drivers used into the token calculator spreadsheet.  For the next race the available tokens will be as declared in the table below (the table will also appear in the next race announcement).  The calculated values are automated but selecting the cars is a manual process so please check your tokens to make sure I haven't made a silly error.  There was no token overspend for this round so no one is disqualified.

Another great team performance by Black Night Racing. I think I may have been a bit optimistic about registering for this series. I don't really have time to fit the 69 races in, particularly wing angles in the set up. If time permits I might make a couple of events.

Grats to the podium and all finishers.

No preparation for this race and I was sort of thinking of using the BRM, because I knew that somewhere I had a setup that had worked well in the past. I did spend 5minutes before I joined the server digging around for that old BRM 69 setup and eventually found what I thought was the right file. Whatever it was back then. it did not appear to work for me now!!  OK I'll select a different car.

But, I suspected that this circuit might claim a few victims, so I did not want to invest in a top chassis and find that I got involved in a crashfest. Thinking about Interlagos, I took a chance and opted for the Lotus 49 which would be fast on the straights and there were a few of those here. I had a setup from Hockenheim which needed a little tweaking but had worked well.
It took a while to filter into my brain that this track was counterclockwise and the setup I had dragged in, was set up for a clockwise track  stupid Once I had mirrored the settings, things improved and I was beginning to get comfortable just before the start.
Several cars ahead bogged down at the start and I did an "Alonso" around the outside of T1. Without the drag of wings the Lotus 49 was very quick on the straights , but suffered a little in the corners. Even so I was keeping pace with some of the faster cars and was looking to pick off a couple more places...until a series of unfortunate events spoiled my plans.
Bastian has apologised for torpedoing me, and that is OK, we all make mistakes. But after I untangled my car from his I had lost a lot of ground and something important was bent or damaged. The car was no longer quite as predicatble under braking or through those long sweeping bends and I suffered a couple of spins that wasted all of my efforts to climb back up through the field. I had got the fuel load totally wrong and finished the race with 11 galls of fuel still sloshing around in the tanks  Undecided
Relieved to make it to the flag and collect a few points after an eventful race. At least I saved a few tokens to spend on future rounds  Wink

Bastian,
Why did you use the BT24 on such a track ?
For tokens economy ?
You could use one of the three 4WD.

Still not got the hang of not blowing the engine in these things.

I went through 2 of them, the second one after only a lap and a half. Apparently not warming it up before pushing it.

At least the next track isn't Monaco....oh.

GRATS Tim and Tristan nice to be with you on podium after such a long time.
I was totally surprised this time, after my Hockenheim desaster, when I didn‘t know nothing about the special 60fps patch for the 69x Mod AND really surprising after a exhausting 69x race with the GPL-Racers just before - my fitness seemed to be ok - I could hold my concertration easily - definitely I will know it after our race in Monaco that starts after a my race in Interlagos (GPL-Racers)?
Nothing to say to my race additionally, with the exception that all backmakers act very professional - THX to you all well done.
Last but not least THX to our Admin, perfect event.
