Season 34 Historic Trophy – Round 2 –  Road America

For the second round of the season we go to Road America near Ekhart Lake, Wisconsin (USA).
This is a real track, often used at the end of 60’s for CanAm challenge.

Race List = iGOR
Server = UKGPL_9
IP = see iGOR
Race date = Tuesday 05-02-2019
Time = 21:00 UK time (21:00 GMT)
Track = Road America Elkhart Lake
Race length = 22 Laps (50 minutes)
Variant = 1966
Password: see above
Driver lists and divisional rules can be found on the championship standings page
60fps patch used   = 60fpsV2newmod
Damage Model = Pro
Qualifying time = 30-45 minutes
Replays = here

There is no Red Zone. Moderating will be on reported incidents only. Remember that lap 1 incidnts carry an additional penalty place.

The chassis token system is explained on the Historics Trophy standings page.

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

A driver must have sufficient tokens for the chassis he drives in the race.  Any driver who does not have sufficient tokens will be disqualified from the result and his tokens will be set to zero.

The chassis a driver uses in qualifying are disregarded when determining his token spend.
Note:  This is to cater for the instances when a driver either does not start or inadvertently joins with the wrong chassis and subsequently rejoins the server in another.

Any tokens not spent at the end of the season are ignored and are not used to determine championship positions in the event of a tie.

PRO rules means Shift-Rs are not allowed at any time and the damage model is realistic.

Drivers must complete 50% race distance to score.

Available Tokens:
Note: These are the tokens available to each driver before the 10 tokens are added for making the race start.

I've loaded the chassis the drivers used into the token calculator spreadsheet.  For the next race the available tokens will be as declared in the table below (the table will also appear in the next race announcement).  The calculated values are automated but selecting the cars is a manual process so please check your tokens to make sure I haven't made a silly error.  There was no token overspend for this round so no one is disqualified.

NO !  You just have to be cautious at the start !
Moreover when starting on the last position of the grid.

You should not be sorry for me, as there was no contact, but maybe for Phil or Billy ?

About the start, I can't remember. We should wait the replay.
Maybe I didn't react very quick, but what is sure is I started slowly as usual. knowing there often are accident at the first braking point.

To frankly speak, I am not always reasured when you start behind me ...
Same with Fran, who by the way made a very nice race, I alway tried to reduce the gap with him until I made a mistake and lost around 10 sec.
Grats Fran !

I think the start line problems were down to me gents. I hadn't engaged first gear (well my H shifter was in first but it wasn't in GPL) so I dropped the clutch and nearly sent the pistons skyward.

Sorry for the temporary road block!

You are right Francesco.

In the past, I was not reasured when you started in front of me (not behind) on the grid because I was often quicker than you in the race and it was very difficult to overtake you without big risks !
NOW, it seems you improve your driving way : you are quicker and make less mistakes  thumbup1

Had a roadblock there aswell. Think it was Arf who came across the track after a spin. Had noway to go but directly in the roadblock. Lost a wheel and that was it. Real shame while I was going good at the fronts.  Angry Tris was pushing from behind and I was starting to think to maybe let him by because he was sure very fast.

I have not checked the replay of the start. For some reason my  clutch does not work for 66 cars so I always have slow starts. I then realised Phil was not moving so I moved to the right. I think there was contact with Bastian. It was at least part my fault. As we both got away afterwards I was not intending to file a report. I seem to be really slow at this track. I was however kept amused by Arf. He was constantly having to overtake me as he found new places to spin off.

You need to print that one Fran, and mount it in a glass case!

I've corrected the import so the championship tables are showing Pro and Am tables separately now.

Congratulations on leading the championship Fran.

laugh Funny.Frankly speaking is only one race went well,not always is so.For sure the new equipment(pedals and wheel)have gived me an help.
In this race i have done only one mistake during a breaking,i was into the green and i have lost roughly 3 second.After the exit i have seen the gap with Dave drop from 7sec to 4sec.
