I managed to stay in front of Eck and Frex towards the end. I assumed Dieter was just being polite
and letting me stay ahead, certainly when I went off briefly it seemed that way  thumbup1 Ta for that
But then my pace was not so far off, and kept position up to the flag.
I see the tyre pressure settings, but no temp readout? I read something about web overlays? huh?
Dieter's car was sat in the pits on my screen during qual, with the engine revving it's nuts off, yet the session
said he was on track, and he appeared on the grid at start time normally. weird..

I actually thought I had forced you off track because I got out of shape on the kerb, so slowed to let you catch up & promptly ran wide at that turn because I was busy looking in the mirror for you & missed the turn in.
I thought I was getting a run on you but got a little to throttle happy and got some oversteer, I was lucky not to hit the wall on the left. Sorry for the distraction Wink

I had a car doing that too, wasn't sure who though. Is that why I saw you reversing down the pitlane?

Around 0.8 secs separating our fastest laps implies this could be a close series although I suspect several of you will suss out setups overtime and get quicker.

I was a bit polite on the second lap when you went off, but then later on you were easily pulling away from me! With Eck keeping you busy towards the end I was catching again though - would have been a nice 3 car fight without my own minor off. Good fun, but the Audi had horrible front tyre wear here - that's why I gave up with it before, so I hope the update hasn't broken it again (maybe just need to look at the pressures and redo the setup though).

Congrats Pete.

See here: https://github.com/sector3studios/webhud

Follow the 4 steps under Quick Start near the bottom of the page. The game launch arguments are added in Steam under Launch properties. Some are saying it adversely affects performance, but I have not noticed that.

Hmm. well I ran it,and it works, but:

1: It did slow my frame rate down a lot, drivable for setup testing, but I wouldn't want to race with it running

2: It is only overall tyre temp, not outer, mid, inner as I was assuming  Undecided

3: It seems to be wrong way round? making the pressure higher makes the tyre run hotter, lower pressure runs cooler

I did a few laps of Zandy with the new porker, and the front left would easily overheat, with pressure at lowest
it overheated less, with pressure highest it overheated sooner.  Huh

This is not the way it works in real life (as we discussed at this week's Oval GTL race)
Need someone else to do some testing as I might be talking spheroids.

Still baffles me, I ran the dash.exe & all I got was a new window open with 'Looking for R3E process'. Then what?

Leave that window open and start the game. (And make sure you have set the launch parameters in Steam as mentionerd above).

@Matt - I agree we need Inner, Mid, Outer tyre temps but this is just a quick first pass, more a proof of concept. I'm sure there will be further tyre apps available soon that will include just that. Limites usefulness until then though, although other parts of the web HUD are also very useful (ability to see cars in other classes on the position bar for example).

Also, yes a tyre with very low pressure will overheat massively, but in the normal operating window of the tyre, increasing pressure will increase tread temp (and vice versa). That's how I understand it?

OK got it running now.

Edit: Yeh like Matt says it slows frame rate considerably, in fact too much on my old PC, so have removed it again.

Traditional knowledge is that lower pressure increases tyre temp, and higher pressure reduces tyre temps
Martin Brundle explains it quite well. I don't know about within temp range or not.
