25 laps of hard work and no fun at all for me, I was passenger of my car, not the opposite,  and no possible to drive and push
After 2 laps I was in red zone with brake, ant so until end, only me?
Unfortunately this mod seems is good only for long and fast tracks like Spa/Monza etc.. but not with tortuous tracks like Brands, in this period I must run with an old and weak pedals and maybe the cause is this also.

See you next!

Although off the pace I had a solid race and apart from one brief excursion onto the grass at South Bank made no real mistakes, which is surprising as my fps was dropping down to as little as 17 and never got above 20???
Just tried it now offline and it was at 60 all the way round and I haven't changed a thing .Any ideas why this is anyone?

Rich

At the start of the race my FPS dropped to 20 for the first couple of laps which is a bit unnerving as I was trying to stay out of trouble. However once the field had spread out a little and there was only ever 1 or 2 cars in my field of vision my FPS was a rock solid 60.

I'm going to do some testing with the AI off-line to see if I can address the issue. I suspect I've just got the graphics turned up too high. Once I have a solution I can set up my server with 15 or 16 AI cars (just to check the FPS at the start, not to race against them) to see if I have cured the problem.  I'll let you know how I get on and when I'm going to do the server test. Won't be tonight but hopefully before the weekend.

Regards

Phil

Please try the opposite first, as I know that you have a modern pc with lots of power.
Gpl is not recognized as 3D app, so the GPU stays in idle!!!

Stefan Roes has made a good guide for nvidia GPUs.

I had the same with AMD RX 580 and found a solution with wattman setting a high power profile.

If you want finish first you have to finish first.

Congratulations Clive and Alessandro and all finishers
Fine to be back with the 55 F1 having my first win in this GPL mod ever Smiley
At start I lost 2 places and when I spun in Druids (4th lap) from second to 4th. It was not easy to drive because of a lot wrapping probs, especially at T1 and nearly the whole race long I had fps up to 52 again and again.
Nevertheless the race was big fun, a lot of close, fair and exciting fighting, down form pole to 4th and on top again in the end. THX for  racing with you all, especially to the Bugatti gang Wink
looking forward what ever that means for the 55 cars in Hockenheim

I hadn't any problem with fps, but I have the Voodoo/low res. version that you can find further down in the linked download page.

Ciao

Had a play with the graphics card settings as per Stefan's guide but I can't get the 55mod working as well as the other mods. The only way I can get 60fps at the start with a full grid of 55 cars is to turn the "Detail Bias" down in the graphics options (on the GPL interface not Nvidea utility). It doesn't affect the game much because it is the cars in the distance that loose their definition. Until I can spend some more time fiddling with the vast array of graphics settings in the Nvidea utilities, I'll have to race the 55GP cars with the detail bias turned down.

The new calendar would be Albi on 17th March and Dundrod on 31st March. Please post something here or PM me if you have any objections.
No complaints about the calendar swap so I've instigated it.

Sorry Phil, I meant to say that it makes no difference as far as I'm concerned.

Glad to finish at Brands ... I trained with 36 fps and although Clive told me the circuit is demanding with the graphics, I did not lose much at that frame rate ... nevertheless when entering the race I remembered to use 60 fps and that made it difficult for me to drive

Happy to shoot and finish ... many thx all for racing Smiley
