Season 34 Historic Trophy – Round 3 –  Mexico
Round 3 takes us to Mexico City. The Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez is a 4.304 km (2.674 mi) motorsport, named after the racing drivers Ricardo and Pedro Rodríguez. The circuit got its name shortly after it opened when Ricardo Rodríguez died in practice for the non-Championship 1962 Mexican Grand Prix. Ricardo's brother Pedro also lost his life behind the wheel nine years later.

Race List = iGOR

There is no Red Zone. Moderating will be on reported incidents only. Remember that lap 1 incidents carry an additional penalty place.

The chassis token system is explained on the Historics Trophy standings page.

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

A driver must have sufficient tokens for the chassis he drives in the race.  Any driver who does not have sufficient tokens will be disqualified from the result and his tokens will be set to zero.

The chassis a driver uses in qualifying are disregarded when determining his token spend.
Note:  This is to cater for the instances when a driver either does not start or inadvertently joins with the wrong chassis and subsequently rejoins the server in another.

Any tokens not spent at the end of the season are ignored and are not used to determine championship positions in the event of a tie.

PRO rules means Shift-Rs are not allowed at any time and the damage model is realistic.

Drivers must complete 50% race distance to score.

Available Tokens:
Note: These are the tokens available to each driver before the 10 tokens are added for making the race start.

Hard luck Fran. It was a tiring race for me too. I was fortunate to capitalise on your technical problems.

I made a great start and got up to third by the first corner. It didn't last long. David passed me a couple of corners later. I tried to keep a gap back to Andreas and Billy but I made too many mistakes and they caught and passed me  Angry

I have understood that you have done mistake laugh. In the first lap your advantage was 16-20 sec and despite my 4 "exit", due to the wheel that went where he wanted,i was able to reach you but the fourth exit was fatal laugh.
At one of your mistake i was behind Billy,Billy pass you at the hairpin and i was immediately behind ready to pass but again the wheel say no.

The day before the race, I tried several cars for Mexico.

I thought the 3 liters were the best choice here but I was very surprised to see I was quicker with the two Brabham 2,5L and 2, 7L and with the Ferrari 246 too.
I was also quicker with the Brabham BRM 2L but I thought its little engine will not handle for 25 laps.

Brab 2,5 liters was a good choice, I was 3rd on the grid but I made the slowest start I ever did...
after the first lap where I regain the 3rd position, I was alone during the rest of the race ...and it was boring !

Pity we were only 7 (after Clive burned his engine at the start).

Just realised that I lose my 10 tokens for not crossing the start line as well!!  Undecided talk about a double wammy lol. Just as well that I did not blow all my tokens on a big 3 litre car  Roll Eyes

I know that some drivers believe that warming the engine and oil on the grid, by revving the engine helps prevent early explosions. But, I have never done that and I think this is the first time my engine has detonated on the grid, so I won't be changing my usual start procedure any time soon  Wink

I've loaded the chassis the drivers used into the token calculator spreadsheet.  For the next race the available tokens will be as declared in the table below (the table will also appear in the next race announcement).  The calculated values are automated but selecting the cars is a manual process so please check your tokens to make sure I haven't made a silly error.  There was no token overspend for this round so no one is disqualified.

Yes Clive you are correct.  As a non-starter you don't get your start money but neither do you have to pay 8 tokens for the Brabham BT11 BRM. So you have 2 tokens less than Tristan who, like you tried to do, has taken the Brabham BT11 BRM in every round.
