Thanks for some great fun Nappe.

I only downloaded the car pack yesterday at around midday and had no idea what to expect.

Race 1 and I basically played chicken, by choosing what I thought might be the slowest car ( based upon some comments by your testers  Roll Eyes ) I have to confess that I thought I had picked a total lemon in pre race practice when a Fiat Abarth just blew past me like I was stopped!!! Then I remembered that there were 2 classes and I was hoping that your car was from the quicker group.  Wink
The race was fun until I screwed up and spun the little rice boiler when in a good position.
Race 2 and I got braver, trying the Escort from the faster group. Although it felt fast I found the brakes and the snap oversteer a problem and they caught me out on a couple of occasions.

Race 3 and I discovered the Alpha, just backed off the brakes a little and it felt almost right, well good enough to ruin Geoffers' clean sweep, although I think he allowed me to pass early in the race and later regretted it  Wink

Looking forward to more frantic fun and hopefully some bigger grids and a greater mix of cars  Grin

That little rice kettle has whopping 650cc in 3-2 configuration: three cylinders with 2 strokes.  Grin Not too bad result against cars with one pot and 200cc more. Not to mention 2 extra strokes.  Grin Street version had just 356cc and they did sell three carb version as Sporty kei car.

The biggest difference between the classes inside the Division is in Division 1. While the ~1000cc cars are all huge budget factory built mean scream machines on their last year(s) of international racing, the lower class 850cc cars lack power and torque quite bit. However as the class was not "hot", they provide the torque in wider band than the bigger brothers. This can be advantage in some events. Smiley

Funny ones. Didn't know the short version of Hockenheim  Roll Eyes - nice one.

Looking forward to this series.  Cool

Solved my sound issue concerning the 1969Mini970S. Smiley
Looks like I deleted one or more common sound files by mistake when installing the final version of the mod.

Nappe, is there any chance that each race evening could get it's own thread?

I apologise if my spins and errors caused any problems in both of last night's races.

Race 1 was just insanely frantic on the short circuit with the 2 small classes  Grin

Race 2 on the GP circuit with the much more powerful Alfa was entirely different, but equal fun.

For both races I was struggling with my trusty old G25, which had strangely lost calibration and decided that straight ahead was only attainable with 20 degrees of left hand lock  Huh Undecided  It was surprising just how difficult I found driving the cars with that error, especially when trying to correct slides.

Eventually I lost total control of the Alfa in race 2 and sustained some serious damage against a fence, so decided that maybe I should quit rather than become a hazard for everyone else.
Looking forward to the next round.... Wink thanks for this series, if we get big grids of 16 it will be fun.

Hi Clive,

could it possibly be the same issue I was facing about two months ago:

Ok - the optical encoder is broken: https://www.mediafire.com/view/0aa77mbacj63in0/IMGP3647crop.jpg/file

Very detailed instruction for repair here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCSTOb28Ero&pbjreload=10

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhYpWAmZVjQ&pbjreload=10

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23ahB-YfkC0&pbjreload=10

It can be tried to glue the damage but a new encoder (brass instead of plastic) can be ordered from here: https://cmlaserservice.com/index.html (around $ 40).

Delivery from Thailand could last two to four weeks  Sad

Have to look whether it's available here in Europe or in Germany too. I hope it will be worth to buy it and repair the wheel.

I still have a very old steering wheel which I will try to connect in order to be back earlier than scheduled.

Yes the optical encoder does that some times. However, maybe the screws that are holding it into place( the whole thing not just the wheel) might simply need some tightening. I have bought that brass encoder wheel myself, it works just fine.

On the other hand, my G25 used to lose calibration too, many years ago, before I took a break from sim racing. Once I started using it again one of the motors died, and in order for the wheel to work I had to completely remove the motor. Now I only have the one and it works just fine, combined with the brass encoder it's just like normal.
Don't want to sound pessimistic but a dying motor could be a possibility. Hopefully it's just the encoder!

I have had this issue "on and off" for probably about 12 months. It is intermittent and 90% of the time when I fire up the PC everything is fine. If there is time before a race a reboot and recalibrate usually solves the problem

But last night I was keen to practice with these cars and get up to speed and resisted the temptation to reboot, which in hindsight was probably a mistake.........maybe next time  Roll Eyes

Points table link released. Sorry being so slow, but flue took me for ~36 hours.

I also queried opinions in Event 1 thread about pumping up the points so that more racers could score points in each race. you can go and write your opinion about the change there. Smiley  Notice that if the system changes, I will update the score tables for the first event as well.

Nappe, any chance we could have the thread up for the next event, the Col St Roch hillclimb. I have the course as we used it in one of your previous series, but some guys will not have driven it before & it needs practice to learn it.
