Sorry francesco, i was out of brakes and tried to avoid you.

I did not have a good gear ratio and was too slow on the straights as well.

Grats to all finishers and thanks to Uli for some great racing  thumbup1 thumbup1

Finally in season 34 I get a clean run in the 55's lol, and what a race that was. Uli's 250F had more speed on the straights but, if I was brave, I could close up any gaps through the corners. If I was close enough to pick up the slipstream there was occasionally the chance of an overtake into Double D  Wink. but everything was right on the limit for lap after lap in the Connaught.

Once or twice a small error from me allowed Uli to extend the gap so I had to concentrate really hard and slowly catch him again. Then with maybe 12 laps to go I started to really push and look for a pass. With 10 laps to go Uli went just a fraction too deep into the final turn...... and I was so focused on his tailpipes that I almost followed him onto the grass  scared. but I just managed to throw the car sideways and get enough opp lock on to avoid joining the 250F.

I had 1st place but I knew that Uli would be fast on the straights and I did not want to help him with my slipstream  Roll Eyes, so for the next 3 laps I simply went as fast as I could, until I suspect that he made a small error and the gap suddenly grew. With a nice safety cushion I could ease off just a fraction and bring the car to the flag, watching Uli slowly close the gap, but not fast enough to worry me provided that I did not make a mistake.

Well done Evil, Uli and Fulvio!

I didn't get off the line very well and had the same problem with Fulvio's Ferrari as Evil did with Uli's Maserati.  But Fulvio hardly put a foot wrong.
Bastian was able to pass me on the main straight on lap one and he somehow also passed Fulvio.  (Correction: Bastian beat me off the line and Fulvio sailed past on the straight.)

Bastian eventually had a grassy moment that allowed Fulvio and me to pass but my efforts to get close to Fulvio onto the straight ended up with my making a mess of T1 and dropping back to finish 4th.

I never felt that I had the brakes to do anything about Fulvio so was just hoping for an error on his part but, as I have already said, he was too good for that.

I think that I finished each lap with absolutely zero brakes!

See you in Ireland.

I think it would be correct to say that none of the cars have brakes that are "good". It might be more accurate to say that it is how different drivers manage the brakes that makes the difference.

Personally, I discovered that after many years wrestling with all the other GPL cars, I had got into the habit of balancing a car on the brake and gas through corners. Now, that works fine when you have infinite brakes, but it is suicidal in the 55 mod  Undecided
I was not even conscious of what I was doing wrong in the early days of the 55's and I just could not understand why the brake light was permanently red..it just never recovered like the handbook said it should??

It was not until I put my left foot ( I left foot brake) under my chair, only bringing it out for the corners I considered critical that things improved. As you have probably discovered, going off the track is expensive in terms of time and places, so ensuring that you actually make the corner entry is imperative... after that it is simples  Roll Eyes

I think that the Gordini is worse than the others.

You may also find that the heavy cars take more stopping!

Just been doing some laps at Dundrod which isn't to bad for brakes if you know where to lift and coast but a long circuit and fast so its easy to get it wrong and no runoff  so ultimately fetal,
eek!! Shocked
Will we be using the 50's layout?

Congrats Clive!
I didn't find my expected racespeed – had too much to look in the mirrors Wink
Great driving Clive. Lap for lap close behind me, never got in touch or troubles. Always fair and waiting on my fault – that's really great driving. And my fault comes 8 laps to go, when I want to lap Rich, he spins in front of me I was a bit irritated and lost my breaking point.
Great driving GRATS again, big hand to you.

There's another layout?  Eeeek!

Hope I've spent the last couple of months practicing the right track!

Again the problem of the gear, this time i have not cheked before to start from the box and i have found the Lancia with only 4 gear.
obliged to chose a 4 gear car,the Vanwall probably is not the best. With the Lancia i was able to go under 1,26 but with the Vanwall was a succes to go under 1,27.
Sorry Rich for the touch at lap 5 but we was both with red brake.

Do you have a separate install for each mod or are they all together?

Afaik Fran has a problem with his shifter software,
I suspect he is missing some software to run the drivers properly, e.g a special version of .net or vcredist384/64
