Hi Pepe

Really sorry you missed the race. I appreciate that it isn't any consolation but all the races for the rest of the season will be at 21:30 BST (GMT + 1).

Regards

Phil

Really sorry you missed the race.

I didn't miss the race. You missed telling me when the race would be. But I'll nonetheless treat your non-apology apology for what it's worth.

The timing would be down to me as I posted the race.

I have never really given this any thought as I am based in the UK & it's always local time for me. I think that most European countries change their clocks in March & October - I've really no idea if this happens in the Americas? Maybe the simple solution is to post all the races as "21.00 London time"?

Pepe, you have to pay closer attention when we switch to daylight savings time. The Europeans do it on a different date than we do. I'd guess the UK changed time within the last two weeks since this race started at what I'd call the usual time.

So this is my fault? The race board said the qualifying would start at 2100 GMT and it started earlier than that. Right, my bad for believing that when the web site says X I should have known that it meant Y.

The GMT/BST times are on the registration page

Why do you keep defending this plain error that caused me to miss this race? The announcement for this race on the page previous to this clearly states the time and zone when this event would commence:

Server = UKGPL10
IP = see iGOR
Race date = Sunday 07-04-2019
Time = 21:00 UK time (21:00 GMT) [Emphasis added]

Does that look to you like BST?

You --- and by that I mean the organizer(s) of UKGPL --- ********. You know it and so do I. You provided misinformation that I followed to my detriment. Rather than apologize to the only person who apparently has been aggrieved by your obvious error, you double down by telling me that I have to know when you change your clocks or that I have to look at some page that has different information. Why should I have to do any of that? All of the information I needed to know was provided on the previous page here, including the password. You wouldn't make the same argument if we were talking about a mistake in the date or the track, but you curiously dig in by appearing to claim that I should have known that GMT in this case really means BST. That might have some force if you were the Red Queen and I were Alice, but that's not true either.

You owe me a median score for that race, which is 25.5, but I'll settle for 25 even though it should be rounded up. If you won't do that, no worries. This is your league and your rules, and you can run it and interpret them however you may choose.

sorry pepe,

it might be a failure (i didn't prove) but it is neither fair or necessary to judge the people providing fun to us voluntalry.
It's just one race of dozens this year.

I feel for you Pepe, I've been there myself after hours of practice!

But could you please moderate the language?

You're right. I apologize. You'd think after 25 years of posting in internet forums that I'd have learned not to type when I'm angry and frustrated. Apparently that isn't yet the case with me.

I agree with Bastian.
And don't forget the 2 worst results will be discarded, and there are only 3 races until the end.
