First race was kinda ok for me, I feel as if I jinxed everyone ahead of me though (apart from Markus) as Clive, Mike and Geoffers had various misfortunes. I wasn't entirely happy with my pace but at least I managed to finish the race with only a smallish mistake in the hairpin. Both Markus and Geoffers were superfast last night, honestly I'm still wondering about how Geoffers managed to pull that laptime in the 1300 Escort. Mind-boggling laptime! I could have been a bit more careful during qually, however, as I think I kind of messed up one of Bill's laps while trying to pass him. Sorry for that mate!

That's OK I'm use to being bumped into corners as I probably brake earlier than most other drivers!  Grin

Thanks Nappe 1 for organising the Series.

Points Updated.  Smiley Thanks SpecialKS to posting the results.

I did 3 PBs in first race qualify so I was more than happy, even though I was half a second slower than Tony and Salesman in similar Minis. In race I tried too hard overtaking Salesman in lap 2 and braked too late to first chicane. I tried not to block Salesman inside by turning in too hard and rear got loose. I got it corrected in middle of the chicane, but hit Salesman in progress so I decided to wait him and dropped dead last. That seemed to be a bit let down after all I expected me to be a bit slower than him on open track situations. At first that was true, but on lap 7 or 8 I noticed that somehow I was getting closer while my lap times were improving only little. In 3 laps I was around second from Salesman who seemed to have battle going on with Tony. I first thought that it was the battle, but then I realized the real reason: I had longer final gear and when the fuel tank was getting emptier, I reached the top speed in back straight (which was higher than Salesman's and Tony's) earlier and earlier on each lap. On lap 13 I was in attacking range to both of them and overtaking actually was an easy fly by in the middle of the back straight.  Smiley So, very enjoyable race after all.

In second race I had no plan what so ever. I did not even practice any of the cars. I just took the Escort and decided to have some fun with it. To suprise myself, I was quite up to it. There was 2 spins, but both of them happened not until going over all safety margins. I was reaching guys front of me in some point, but then I spinned and in last 3-4 laps I was just marginally faster than the guys next to me, so I just enjoyed trying to my best laps. Smiley Pretty good result in class I do not have big expectations as a whole. Smiley

Great event and thanks everyone joining. Hopefully We'll have as good time in Varosliget, Budapest. (Geoffers' got this one right! Smiley I would love to have Nepligét Park, just like in 1970 they had, but no one has done it for any nowadays simulator and even for GPL there seems to be 1930's layout only.)

Hopefully I have time tonight to find out the lap count. I also hope to make the following event (Brno 2 hours) track ready soon as possible so that you can get some practice in it.

Not that it's very important but I genuinely don't understand my result in race 2. While the 'Gaps' page in SpecialKS's (invaluable!) race summary puts me 5th within 0.153 seconds of nocatu -which is where I physically ended- the summary page puts me at +1.34.102 which is 55.153 seconds from nocatu. Apparently I didn't get a DQ after all but a 55 seconds penalty? I never even knew GTL did that. Is this correct? Just to be clear, I'm not contesting the penalty, in the replay I saw at least two more track cuts which I had already forgotten. I'm just curious how this works?

To set Clive and nocatu's mind at ease; I loved these races, especially with the Beemer. It was great fun and the side by side with either of you was the best part! Plenty of space for me to move in. I ultimately gave the corner to both of you simply because I wasn't in the position to claim it.

I use Autosimanalyzer 1.65  and we already experienced some small discrepancies in certain situations.
Learned years ago in - I don't know in which - forum that the newer version 1.69 would not work properly and I was unable to install that version in some Windows versions (XP and 7 (?)).
Not yet tested in W 10. If I find a V 1.69 on my HD, I'll try to check and compare both versions. Difficult to find a current download. I'm quite sure that this tool is no longer evolved for years.

In this case the Analyzer was just reporting what GTL decided. I saw myself dropping in the result after the finish and my local results file is consistent with that. Oh well, no biggie.

If you would have had a cut warning during your last lap, that would be a plausible explanation for dropping down after the finish, as your last lap would not count then.

edit: there seem to be no obvious differences between V 1.65 and V 1.69 (last version 1.69 was released in June 2008  Shocked )

I barely recall this happening somewhere in 6-8 years ago and iirc, it was diagnosed as getting stop and go in last lap and finishing race without dealing it. Most likely due fact that, you have 2 laps time to deal s&g in middle of the race, game cannot give you dq in this particular situation, but just gives you some sort of approximate time penalty.
