That was a lot of fun, not as quick as the front 3 but they kept tripping each other up so I could close back up. Sadly once Geoff got a little gap that was it and the last 5 or so mins was just watching the gaps increase. Well done all, great fun.

Limited practice last weekend kept entering the pits so could not get a flying lap. After update I couldn’t run RRE, dreaded problem 20004 (?) ran file integrity - OK so couldn’t get any more practice in until last night!
The result was it took me to the end of qualifying to learn the track. On the race first lap spun on cold tyres and had terrible couple of laps trying to clean and heat up the tyres damaging the car in the process, after which it didn’t seem to drive so predictably but managed to complete the race. However I found, as I was faster through the final corner, I was on the Rev Limiter before I passed the start/finish line, needed another click on the final drive.

I made a newbie error by changing the setup just before the start I decided to try to get a little more turn in by altering the camber....without that nasty overlay running there is no idea what the tyre temps outer/inner are, so made a guess. reduced the front to 2.5 and the rears to 1.0 Either I got a whole lot more front grip (it did turn in better) or I just lost rear grip, but the car was almost undrivable (for me) sideways as if on ice, gave up the masochism pretty soon after the start, and quit WHat happened to John?

John had a couple of excursions on to the grass and ended up visiting the pits. I don't know why he didn't finish as he came back out.

Yes, he came out of the pits just ahead of me, did one lap and went back in again, retiring soon after. Shame about the spins as the 3-way fight at the beginning was intense.. After John dropped back it was Geoff and me fighting with Pete never far away. We swapped places a couple of times and it was a good battle. Towards the end my rear tyres started going away and this seemed to coincide with Geoff getting even quicker! Struggled to keep up at that point and just cruised for the last few laps. Good fun though.
Congrats Geoff and Pete.

Yeh good race. Had an intense first few laps with plenty of door handle bashing with John & place swapping with Frex & Pete close behind too. Looked like Frex was going to pull away around half distance but he had a couple of big slides which allowed me to get back ahead & then pull away over the last 3-4 laps. Congrats to Frex & Pete on the podium . Bad luck to John whatever the problem was .

me thinks i might have to rethink the BMW which i don't like to do during a season but it just doesn't do what i want it to! Great battle with Geoff at the beginning had to get my elbows out a little hope it wasn't too aggressive? but my tires kept over heating when i pushed and then i would lose the front end! shame as i like the 6 series. I did lose a bit of heart after that and felt is was best to retire!

Apart from loss of grip, how do you know the tyres are overheating? are you running the overlay?

Right, thanks. I may have tried this, not sure. I did instal and run the sector 3 overlay which showed inner and outer tyre temps, but it slowed the frame rate down so much I couldn't race like that Perhaps this is something else. I have never run crew chief, though some people use it. I will have a go.
