The server is still running and i'm out  cursing censored
after 10 years running online, tonight the pit lane kicked me out from the race like a newbby!!
Too fast coming in pit line, and go home immediately.

I was first for 7 laps, but a mistake felt me offroad and i lost the lead.
immediately riccardo gengotti get the lead until the distaster...my clumsy attempt to pit.

next time i'll study the pit line  Grin Grin

Sorry for that Alessandro  Sad
A couple of things to learn from that race!

1: the soft tyres won't do a 30min event
2: the hard tyres seem to lose grip even when not worn, perhaps they are overheating? I will do some laps with
the overlay and report back when I can.

Results will have to wait, sorry, I forgot to ask to have the cars added to our server list.
Apart from that. I rather enjoyed it, on hard slidey tyres you need to be more careful with the power than I expected Shocked

nice race, these cars are difficult but fun, I managed the race with the soft without pit, it wasn't easy but it went well. Hi everyone

Oh, ok, so the soft tyres will do a race. must have been awkward towards the end though I expect.
Good info, thanks Riccardo  thumbup1

Got to say sorry to Geoff, was trying to stay out of the way at the start as I knew I had no pace and still tagged you. Really sorry to mess your race up like that.

Sorry folks but I was so slow and the rest of you so much faster that I thought I would be a hazard to the rest of you. Will look at the next race and see how it goes there.

No worries Pete, it made little difference, I was quite capable of making a mess of my race all on my own laugh.

Not one of my best races, had 3 or 4 spins that were my own doing & twice had Mark spin right in front of me. First time I stood on the brakes but still hit him amid ships & the second time I just managed to avoid him. With all that I was well behind & last finisher.

I did however quite enjoy these cars, they are fun & rewarding to drive when you get it  right. Watching a couple of the faster guys (Italians) in practice it seems I may have got my gearing wrong, I think they were using 1st for the tight sections whereas I was taking them in 2nd. It was too late to change gearing at that point but it seems I should have had a higher first gear & had the gears closer together.

Like Riccardo I used the soft tyres & although they went off near the end of the race & were a couple of seconds a lap slower, they were far from unmanageable.

Oh Matt another thing to learn from this race, you need to brake well early for the first braking zone after the start, the brakes don't work very well until they are warm. Seems nearly everyone overshot Village on lap 1!

Congrats to Riccardo, Matt & Frex.  clap clap clap

Enjoyed that   Smiley

The Nissan is a challenge even with the soft tyres, but the hards felt truly awful, were a lot slower and (most importantly) just not as much fun. Some work on the setup would probably improve things but I just went with the softs and accepted I'd have to stop. I was catching the leaders so thought initially they must be on hards, but then Alessandro pitted. The DQ was a shame as the second half of the race would have been fun. I see now Riccardo was on softs and driving conservatively to manage the tyres, but even so I have no idea how you (and Geoff) got them to last - maybe the Porsche is a bit easier on the tyres? I had a couple of spins at the end of each stint when my tyres were gone - the second of those on the last lap and handing P2 back to Matt.

Congrats Riccardo and Matt.
