Being as I am going to the Spa Classic in a weeks time, I thought it would be cool to have a race there using some prime historic racers  Smiley

A short tail 906-8 will do nicely (Should be faster at modern Spa than the long tail 908)
Sadly there is no decent 906 available Sad

I'll take a GT40 for this I think, as last time we did an event like this at VIR I drove the Pork

Nice to get some positive feedback for a change  laugh

I'm going to take a GT40 i think. Have never driven it around Spa and its nice to have a track to give it some proper gas.  Smiley  Hope there are some 908's too though to mix it up.

One thing i havent checked yet is whether either car needs to pitstop. I would like to make a mandatory stop as it adds to the spice and drama but depends if it adds or detracts from the strategy element. If someone has the time today, can you check the fuel capacity for both cars? I'm stuck at work  Sad  We could use a fuel multiplier so that a stop is needed.  Undecided

The 908 should be lighter on its tyres and better on fuel economy versus the gt40's brute power advantage.

You have two weeks to practise so no excuses this time  Wink

any chance we can have this running on the server? I know its 2 weeks off but good to encourage people to get some laps in and may even encourage new drivers who try it and like the combo.  Smiley

2:40 for me so far in the GT40.  60litres would cover a 40min race. Not tried the 908 yet.

Pitstop - yay or nay?  walkman

Perhaps a better question is would there be enough takers and interest to warrant a 1 hour special?
That way it might balance out on its own.

I initially thought of making it an hour long race with a mandatory stop, then remembered not so many race lately  Cry

How about stating your intention to race below? in our better seasons/races knowing others were intending to race seemed to encourage more to put the effort in. I'll start  Wink

I tested the 908.
It's faster than GT40 and consumes less fuel. But we already knew these things from the Kyalami prototype race.

In any case, 2.37 easy and 50 liters (16 laps). Fuel capacity 120 liters.
