NoGrip Legacy TC Championship 2019
Nurburgring 500kms Endurance
1st of June, 2019 (SATURDAY)

The one we have waited (read: feared) for. Smiley

Server info:
- Server Name: NoGrip Legacy TC Server
- Password: tc4ever

Event Info
Track: 70 Nords 1000kms
Track download: *DOWNLOAD*
Allowed Classes: Division 2 AND Division 3 classes.
  • 1000 - 1299cc.
  • 1300 - 1599cc.
  • 1600 - 2000cc.
  • over 2000cc.
Qualifying: 30 minutes, starts at 19:00 BST.
Race: Length 22 laps, starts at approx. 19:30  BST.
Scoring:
  • Both DIVISIONS (!!) score points separately. Winner of each DIVISION receives 9 points, 2nd in each DIVISION receives 8 points and so on and so forth.
  • Overall winner of the race scores additional 1 point.
  • Start in a class where driver has not started yet in this season, scores automatically 3 additional points.

Notes
Notice the different qualifying and race start times. Decided to make the start half an hour earlier than usual as the race will take a bit over 3 hours. (estimated)
Notice the different scoring system. As this race differs a lot anything else what we race in this championships, the scoring is Division (not class) based. So cars between 1000 - 1599cc run for same points and cars above that run for same points.

For those who missed Silverstone, Car pack update used now on is available here:
*DOWNLOAD*

As this is Saturday race, the race start time can be discussed, if you want it earlier. I dropped half an hour from the usual, to  make sure that race won't take the whole night for us living in East European Time Zone. Smiley

Maybe we could cut qually to 30 mins & start the race half an hour earlier. Don't  know how others feel.

I just realized that it was exactly 1970 when Nurburgring took it's only Flying Finn...

Hans Laine perished in flames in 1970 Nurburgring 1000kms practice... And this happened 30th of May, 1970.  eek
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans_Laine

EDIT: fixed the lap count. As the old Nords (pre-1971) was 22.885 km long, it makes 22 laps to achieve 503km race distance.

Any comments about the geoffer's idea of having 30 minutes qualify and starting the race at 19:30 BST already?

30 minute qually sounds good to me, it's not like our starting position is going to be super important around here, I also think that our backs will be thankful Wink

As there is a good chance that 30 mins qualifying is going to be all the preparation I get for this race, and as there is a 2hr race ahead, I probably would not have wanted to spend any more time "in the driving seat".
So, I am all in favour of a short qualifying session.

Tried the server....it works perfectly for me Grin

Just a shame that the cars don't work quite so well  Undecided
Based upon my short practice session, this could be a long slow race yawn. or an action packed, adrenaline filled, half lap disaster!!! w00t

EvilClive: I have decided to start in Bellett GTR  eek and have had just 6 laps of practice in which I had whopping 2 complete laps without any mistakes. So, getting finish is success already. Smiley

This prooves the special nature of this track; my best in Bellett was 9m13.5s.

Plus, it's one thing to do fast lap here and then repeat that 22 times. Smiley
