Moderator's Report

Final race of the season. Congratulations to our new drivers from UKGPL Brasil, Dulima, Ricardo & Eric who finished the season in 1st, 2nd & 3rd in their rookie season at UKGPL. It was only at Nürburgring that the long term UKGPL drivers were able to keep them off the podium.

Server replay time: 0h01m18s

On lap 1 Fran overtakes Dave into Turn 2. Dave has a better line on the run into T3. Dave kept to the inside & Fran moved across, causing the crash which also caught out Phil & Andreas. Fran should have realised that DC was likley to be there - although there may have been some confusion seeing Phil's Eagle in his mirrors. Overtaking drivers should not move across the track until the overtaken car is visible in their mirrors. Penalty for Fran.

It looks like Billy has forgotten to set it. I'm sure he will rectify that soon.

Of course I knew that my decision to run the Cooper exclusively again this year was going to exact a price at places like Rouen, Tripoli, and (tonight) Kyalami. My qualifying of 1:22.9 was within a few hundredths of the 90 percentile rank of the marque here, so even though I qualified dead last, I didn't feel the car was letting me down as much as I was disappointing it.

Billy's spin at T1 and the collection of cars on the side of the road at Jukskei on the first lap raised me to 4th, a happy status that lasted until Billy finally caught up to me on L11. His Eagle couldn't shake me, however, and we stayed within sight of each other until Francesco caught me on L29 and Dave slipped by me on the lap after that. I held on to finish 6th. Facing two Loti, a couple of BTs, a pair of Eagles, and a red car, how much better could the poor Coop expect to do? At the end there were just 13 seconds between 3rd and 7th, so I'm feeling pretty good about the entire season tonight. This was hard but clean racing in this season finale, and I'm proud of everyone for their concentration, effort, and skill.

But next year I'll start playing the car swapping game. Statements of principle are nice, but being competitive might be even better.  Smiley

Cruising along in 3rd spot when I saw the red warning light telling me I had 2.5 gallons of fuel on lap 27. For some daft reason I fuelled for 10 laps short. According to Prib I had a 19 second lead on Fran. Too much thinking about how to stop & go meant I lost a corner & belted the armco. The pit stop cost 3 places whereas a neat halt & duck into the pits might have just worked. Congrats to Dulima, Ricardo & Eric who have been dominant nearly all season. We have had a good, competitive turnout since race 1. Have enjoyed even though points were hard to come by.

Very bad race for me.
I had a satisfying 2nd position on the grid.
I made a correct start but had to push on the brakes to not rearend DuLima at the first turn.
Probably, this made a confusion for the following cars ? (i have not yet seen the replay)

During the first laps, I tried to follow DuLima and had an advantage of around 11 seconds to the 3rd driver.
But I made a first mistake, and then another and finally blowed my Cosworth so shift-R to finish at the 7th position.

During the season, I earned tokens to be able to use the Lotus at the final round but it was an error as I am not confident with this car.

If I had to summarize my UKGPL season 34, I would say "thank you Germany and big thanks to Old Jack" because my 3 wins were in this country and with a Brabham :

Mod67 : I won on the Nordschleife - Nürburgring with the BT24
Mod 69X : I won at Hockenheim with the BT26
Mod 66 : I won on the Sachsenring  with the BT19

I would like to congratulate the organization for the championship and to Du Lima for being champion and for all those who participated. I could not get there in time for this last race, but I'm very happy because I had a lot of fun with this season, because gpl for me is this dispute with fun, because winning is a consequence. Thank you all more time.

It was an excellent championship, with very clean disputes

I just have to thank to my brothers of clues and the organization fantastic which is the UK's league

I had a lot of fun and that's what really matters

I thought it was fantastic the coins for the choice of cars.

I wanted to thank Pepe Higdon in Laguna Seca that after my mistake I lost touch with the pointers and he was a gentleman, opening the way and not holding me

Big hug and GPL in the vein forever
