As it is quite a short hillclimb would it be worth having 3 runs?

Just because I can get things wrong.................. Roll Eyes

There are to be 3 runs, and all runs are to be done in the same car? We do not use a different car for each run?

Grats to those who posted some stunning times and thanks for a fun event.

Arnold and Mabel had worked out a way that I might gain an advantage by disguising my car and sneaking the 2ltr Escort past the scrutineers, but Geoffers spotted my cunning plan.  shifty Undecided

I was quite looking forward to tackling this Hill Climb again, but I had to downgrade to a 1600 Escort TC, first practice runs were OK'ish but something was way off with the gear ratios??? I tried to adjust the gears just before the first timed run, but with no luck.

Not a bad time for the first run but the gear ratios were maxing out and I was losing a lot of time.
So, for the 2nd run I upped the final drive ratio by one notch...................disaster!!! lol. The car struggled off the grid and it upset the balance of the car through the fast curves, which ended with the car oversteering into the bank and screwing that run completely.

Then, just before the 3rd run a small light bulb switched on in my dull brain  stupid stupid

I checked which setup I had actually loaded from my archive.......................oops!! I had chosen a 1300GT setup and not a 1600 TC.
But I just had time to load the default setup and guess at what adjustments I would prefer, or need before run 3.

The car was most definitely faster and the gears ratios were much better....strange that the gears are better in the correct setup  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes......what a dufus!!! Undecided But somewhere between the two setups I lost the handling.
Oh well lol!! chalk that up to experience, and it was still good fun throwing the car up the hill.

Happy with 2nd place & 1300 class victory but not so happy with my time. Had done several runs in the 2.13s in testing & thought that a high 2.12 was possible, however that still would not have beaten Markus so 2nd was the best I could have done.

Congrats to Markus on the win  clap & thanks once again to Lasse for organising. I'm on holiday so will miss the Spa race so cya all at Zandvoort at the beginning of August. thumbup1

Thanks Nappi1 for organising and running the Series, would you please post a copy of the latest (revised ?) race programme? I thought the 24 June race is a 2 hour race at Brno for Division 1 cars with Spa next month. If so I have been practicing on the wrong track!

Congrats to Geoff and Markus for class wins. Each of my runs were PBs, an enjoyable evening.
