Fun Race - SCX – Nürburgring

The Nordschleife has enjoyed a reputation as a terrifying and merciless route through the Eifel forest. An English journalist who visited the Nordschleife during the opening race on 18 June 1927 concluded “that it seemed as if a reeling, drunken giant had been sent out to determine the route”. The Formula 1 driver Jackie Stewart – a three-time world champion in 1969, 1971 and 1973 – was so impressed by the circuit that he gave it the name it will probably never lose: the Green Hell (Grüne Hölle). Racing and winning on the Nordschleife has always been very special for racing drivers, because the track is one of the most demanding in the world. Tricky corners, treacherous crests, steep inclines and gradients and constantly changing road surfaces demand great skill from the drivers and provides the cars with a very hard test.

Tried to join the race at Nurby, but each time I get dumped back to GEM???!!

I can load the track and see the programme cover.
I can select the car
I can select the setup
I can place a comment in CHAT
But, as soon as I click the green button to get into the car..the screen goes blank...audio blips a couple of times ……. and we are back at GEM, not even back to IGOR???

Anyone have any clever ideas???

Tried both Axel  no good 

SC mod will not work offline either!! Looking for problems on PC, Error log shows "wrong time" and "wrong name". But I cannot understand what that refers to?

I did some more digging last night and this is most strange 

The SC mod will load as far as the final screen before actually getting into the car, both online and offline. But if I attempt to sit in a car then the game crashes back to GEM. I get a couple of short burst of audio, the screen flashes a few times and we are dumped back to GEM.
This happens for all cars and tracks in SC mod.

All of the other mods appear to work OK

The last time I used the SC mod it was online with Axel at the new I.O.M circuit and it worked fine, so I am perplexed as to what changed?

Today, I think that I will re-install the SC mod and see what happens.

If anyone else has any experience or insight about this please post here.

Wow! This mod is fast. I was almost 6 seconds faster than the old mod while using just one hand to steer and shift. I couldn't slow down this time Axel. Every sector time was a fast sector until lap 4.

It was good to see Jani. He brought back memories. My first online race at Nurburgring was with the Groundhog League. I was in a Ferrari then too.

When I have problems, the first thing I do is, Uncheck the read-only box for the GPL and GPLSecrets folder. And then I make sure that "allow file indexing" is checked for both folders. Right click the folder/folders in File explorer, select Properties. Those settings are in there somewhere. I have no idea how win10 may differ for those settings. This has fixed problems for me at least 4 or 5 times.

Clive, make sure you have a gpu profile for the SCX exe too.

It's strange that it worked and now it doesn't.

One more thing. My old GT setups seem to work well if I soften the rear springs 20 lbs/in. and use 53% or 54% brake bias. I often used 51% or 52% with the old mod.

Tried your suggestions Greg, still no dice even offline. 

To compound my confusion when it dumped me back to GEM, both the track and the mod had changed!!

I had selected SC and Nurby, and again got as far as the "chat" available screen. Tried to enter pitlane and car....dumped back to GEM, which now showed 67 Lotus and Kyalami!!!?

Plan now is for fresh install of SC MOD, and see if that cures things.

First try to start the SCX mod by starting the gplxsc.exe , so you can see if it is the mod.

Also I would delete the GEM.ini (search it) and reconfigure GEM+

OK, thanks for the suggestions. I have tried all of them with zero success  

I have re-installed the SC Mod. I have also gone through the GEM installation carefully, recreating the driver profile etc. still the same result.

BUT, I happened to click on the "CAR SETUP" tab when I was far enough into launching the game. It did not dawn upon me at first, but I had the standard GPL setup window displayed and NOT the new brighter yellow Sports Car setup options??

I strongly suspect that this is where the problem lies, but I cannot explain why GPL should be trying to use the old GT setup window for the Sports Cars??

I did try to boot the game from the scx.exe and still had the same result.

Remove GPLGT in CARSETS from active carsets!

in GEM do you have in the box left from SAISON ? "CARSSC"
