Season 35 – 1967 F1 – Round 1 – Monza

Please note due to the low number of registrations we have combined the Works and Privateers grids onto a single server. This is the race announcement for both the works and privateers.

The first race in the 1967 F1 series takes us to the Cathedral of Speed in Italy. The Autodromo Nazionale Monza is a race track located near the city of Monza, north of Milan.  Built in the Royal Villa of Monza park in a woodland setting, the circuit has gone through numerous changes over the years.  Perhaps the most striking feature in the park is the steep banked (sopraelevata) curves on the now defunct 10Km variant, first used in 1955.  The original circuit (used between 1922 and 1933) also had an oval section but the banked curves were not as wide or as steep as the later 1955 variant.  The banked circuit was used on four occasions for Formula 1 races; in 1955, 1956, 1960 and finally in 1961 when it was decided that Formula 1 cars were just too fast to be safe on the oval track.   The banked oval section was last used in any capacity in 1969.  From 1962 onwards, the Formula 1 Grand Prix was held on the "road circuit" which by the early 1970s was also deemed to be too fast for Formula 1 cars.  Two chicanes were introduced for 1972 Italian Grand Prix, one at the Ascari curve and another on the approach to the Curva Grande.

The full time drivers can start to practice as soon as the server is available.  Reserve drivers can also join as soon as the server becomes available but must leave the server with 35 minutes of qualifying left, for a total of 5 minutes; this will allow any remaining full timers to join.  If there is enough space on the grid, the reserve drivers will be able to rejoin when there are 30 mins of qualifying left.

Please read the championship specific rules on the championship standings page.

The chassis token system is explained on the championship standings page. Please ensure you choose a chassis that is within your budget, which can be seen by hovering the mouse over your points total in the standings.

Francesco,
you voted for Privateers so you can't read pwd for Works.

By the way, it seems we are only 7 drivers for Privateers and 10 for Works so probably only one grid for all.
Should be clarified, today before the race.

Francesco, David

I need to combine the Works and Privateers into a single championship.  I'll do that today (I've had a busy weekend), so everyone will be given the race password in time for tonight's race.

We have 21 drivers in total now but not everyone will make every race. Hopefully we will have near full grids for every race and nobody will miss out.

Eric

Are you using the IP in the race post?  46.69.108.209

It should work. If not I don't understand what could be wrong. Maybe we have to do some testing after the race.

Sorry you are having trouble.

Regards

Phil

At first, sorry Axel for the incident -i thought I was fast enough to be clearly in front..but wasn´t Sad sorry!!

Gratulations to all finishers and thx Pelle for the great race. What a pace in the Honda you´ve shown!
-Three times I´ve lost little time when overlaping, one time my Ferrari mysteriously lost some power out of Variante Ascari, but every thing went back to normal after Parabolica?? I´m quite sure I had a similar issue last year at Interlagos..strange to me! -hopefully not my pedals..?

and big big thx for doing the championship again guys! very appreciated!

I know Eric had a few problems connecting to the server. Was it only Eric having problems or did anyone else experience difficulties? The server was fine for me but I am only a few metres away from it! Was it OK for the drivers based in Brazil?

Unexpected result for me.I have avoided 2 risks, the first was the incident of Axel the second was Da Silva rejoinig at the exit of parabolica.
In both case some ability and lucky.Happy that at last one race was gone in the right way.
