I just tried the Ford one. She is more gentle in turns. On this track she could be even with the Chevy, if not faster.
In any case, if Max takes the Ford, I will follow him.

How can i replace the engine sound with a better one? The default one seems like a heavy-silenced car.

How can i replace the engine sound with a better one? The default one seems like a heavy-silenced car.

basic guide,  find a car with V8 sounds you like,  then copy the sound .bank file (found in \Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\content\cars\THE CAR WITH SOUNDS I LIKE\sfx" folder)
to   "\Steam\steamapps\common\assettocorsa\content\cars\lola_t70_rf2_ford\sfx" folder and rename it to "lola_t70_rf2_ford.bank"  , replacing the file that's there now

If Tim takes the ford again so will I  Wink

I tried and it works only with the mustang 302's sound. I checked the file size, maybe it is simple the same. With other sounds doesn't work, maybe I did something wrong.  Grin

Probably my instructions are a bit rubbish as its been a while since I did that.  Some times you might need to alter the GUID.txt too, and depending what car you copy from that might mean unpacking original kunos files to get the correct data for that...

The most reliable method is to copy BOTH the bank and GUID, and then rename the bank file to match the car (folder) name. then open and edit the GUID file and change all references of the original car to the new one you are using them in Smiley

So as an example, the Mustang sound line would say:

{6c72a1ed-4257-492f-abe0-5c255e0c9d18} event:/cars/ford_mustang_boss_SE/backfire_ext

you want to edit the file you've copied to the Lola to read:

{6c72a1ed-4257-492f-abe0-5c255e0c9d18} event:/cars/lola_t70_rf2_ford/backfire_ext

The single most important part is not to mess up the string of code contained between the { } as this is what AC uses to identify the chunk of sound to use that is held within the bank file.
It is also critical to make backups of the original sounds before you start, especially on the stock cars.

I spent an hour or so before the race last week trying different sounds - the best by far are the sounds from the Ford 302r ( 'ford_mustang_boss_se' folder ), as far as I can tell the 428r sounds are identiacal but can rev higher as it's apparently a NASCAR engine from reading the notes. Sadly I can't get it to show in game so haven't been able to try it.

The only extra problem is that the 302r sounds much better than the Chevy sounds so I'm now looking for a big block V8 to use on those....
Hearing a Ford go by from the pits was amazing angel

FMG, as you have succesfully already done it,  could you zip/rar up your new Lola Ford-Mustang sounds and post a link? or email them to me and i'll put a dropbox link up.  Smiley  Saves others making a text error and getting problems. Ta  angel

It works now, thanks! thumbup1

I used the sounds of 1970Mustang Mod (to be precise the "mustang boss SE"). I copied "GUID" and "the bank", then in the GUID I replace with "cars/lola_t70_rf2_ford" in every line where there was "cars/ford_mustang_boss_SE".
It seems ok, also tires sounds have changed. I think I did everything right, at least I hope. Grin I can share the folder, if my procedure is correct.

PS: fmg, this version of Bridgehampton is not the same that we used for the race with F1 '67. Some turns are different, specially the first.

My teeth a rattling out of my mouth at this track. The ffb seems a bit extreme as I can't turn it down more without losing feel.

Further to my suggestion of the 302r sounds for the Ford (really worth it if you haven't yet).
Some chap has just released a sound set for the T70 Mk3 - as that was Chevy powered this means the external sounds are bang on the money angel, internally they're still pretty damn good also.

Try them out:
