SORRY FOR THE DELAY IN POSTING THIS RACE

The fifth race in the 1965 F1 series is at Brands Hatch in in Kent, England. The full Grand Prix circuit was created in 1960. The British Grand Prix has been held at Brands Hatch on 12 occasions and the European Grand Prix has been held there twice.  The 1966 Grand Prix was won by Jack Brabham and the 1968 race by Jo Siffert driving a Brabham Repco BT19 and a Lotus-Cosworth 49B respectively.  There have also been numerous non-championship Formula 1 races most notably the Race of Champions in 1967 which was won by Dan Gurney in the Eagle-Weslake T1G..

I think the race post should have said you can use any car you like as long as it is green.
Geat circuit to race on with corners that you can literally throw the car into. Unfortunately I am still struggling for pace, although almost error free. It would have been uneventful if Dave hadn't needed a reset. It took him a few laps to catch up, several  more to work a pass & then a fierce battle for last place.

Luckily, I went off / got stuck & needed a reset just a few laps in - at least it was not later in the race with additional heavy fuel!

I seemed to be creeping up on Billy, but very very slowly. I could hear him, but was many laps until I could see him for a fraction of a second.

When I suddenly caught up, something had clearly happened.  I figured that he'd had to reset,  but he didn't dive in the pits on the first completed lap.  However, his car with cold tyres/heavy fuel, didn't seem to be particularly slow anywhere.

On passing the pits the 2nd time, it became clear the reason for the not-dismal pace was he did not reset at all!

It took a number of laps before he left a lot of room at T1 & I was able to edge past.

It really made those 25 laps or so, quite exciting;  so thanks for that - would have been rather boring otherwise from back there/alone.

Cheers,
Dave.
