Championship standings HERE

Grid/server capacity: 22

Track: Charade

Cars allowed: Alpine A364

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins)
Race: 20:40 (12 laps)

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit stops required: No

Server: simracing.org.uk Mondays
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None

The perfect evening... to forget!
Pole and nightmare...

@Geoffers: Very sorry to have ruined your race. Waited some time then decided to carry on and finally saw you in the mirrors and managed then to go off road.

As I love this track I decided to try my best for the rest of the race, but my PC decided differently and I got a freeze & black screen just after passing Clive who was coming back from visiting the mountains of Auvergne. Sorry Clive if I created problems for you also...
I lost my front left wheel during this "black-out" so that was Game over again!
I quit then, quite disgusted

Sigh, having someone turn the lights on and stick a post-it note in your face while you're driving isn't the best thing... Went off track broke the suspension and since both my evening and the car were ruined I decided to call it quits

Best car
Not much to report about the race except that in my view Roger is the absolute F3 Champ with an impressive series of good results. He knows how to be quick and bring it home!
I think this Alpine F3 is the best sim car of any sim driven by me. Good steering response, controllable braking, handling that makes sense and can be learnt to master; engine and gearing ok too, what a package. It's a gem! What a shame there are no other cars that I know of that are up to this standard. Hats off to the builders of this one.
Thanks Tony for doing this series with Alpine. Looking forward to the next event.

Cheers, Dan

Np S.cargo I felt that I should perhaps apologise to you for leaping out of the scenery when you were coming up the hill  Shocked. I was puzzled to find you in the road a few seconds later minus one wheel?? but had no probs going around you.
Also must apologise to Bob  Undecided I was just about to recover from ( another) spin and I heard you coming. So I stopped hoping there was enough room for you to get through. I was 95% right  Roll Eyes, you made it through minus one wheel  Undecided  sorry my friend.
I had managed to totally trash my tyres in just 1.5 laps and also submit the suspension to some unconventional modifications that promoted massive oversteer and encourage me to explore new routes through the undergrowth in order rejoin the circuit at a point before the last bend that I had just negotiated!!
It did not take long for me to complete the destruction of my car and launch it into the black void...….early shower!!  Undecided

Hope the rest of you guys had more luck and fun.

No problem Clive, I had never made it over 6 laps in practice so I was doomed anyway!!!!!!

Once again I had a connection lost!
This fact is unfortunate and discouraging because during practice, along with the other riders on the track, this does not occur.
Only in Race session!
I had a great start, but later I could not see the others and then realized that I had been disconnected from the server.
A shame because I was feeling good with the setup of my car.

However, as we say here in Brazil:
- I'm Brazilian and I never give up !!

mirror as the salesman was trying to catch up to sell me something that I shot up a hill, went over the top and found a black hole

... I was having the same black screen issues...
Are you also experiencing this: screen goes black for a few seconds but the car, sound, game go on (which most often will result in a car crash) ?
For me it happened several times when driving on Charade (practice, quali & race), but not in previous races (except once in may, don't remember the track but I could find).
Is it the same for you?
Looking at the system logs I see that my problem happens at the same time as system events ID 4101 (Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding) are logged. Great!
Unfortunately this does not lead to any clear solution (despite finding plenty of info about it on the net).
I don't think I can say "Hope this helps" because it doesn't  Grin

I used to get this quite a lot on another machine, and "seemed" to be caused by heat. Last night I had both the black screen
and also the minimise to desktop. For the black screen it comes back after a few seconds, and I just brake, and don't steer
for the minimise to desktop you just need to click on the icon the on taskbar to bring it back.
Which is fine if you already know that  Roll Eyes

It happened at one of the american speedways we ran at, which for some reason seemed to be heavy graphics
so I am sort of ready for it.

It happened a few times in practice, so for the race I used an app...can't remember the name... to slow the GPU clock
and memory speed by 5%, which would likely be enough to limit the heat, and it didn't actually black screen or min during
what little of the race I saw. Your car was sort of warping to me, no one else was, so I assume it was your car not mine
it was more like flickering than warping around, but I tried to not get too close anyway. I haven't looked at the server
replay, that might show whatever it was.

Thanks for the tip.
Overheating is frequently reported as one of the possible reasons, so I will monitor my GPU temps (with very little expectations I must say). We'll see.

@Geoffers: Very sorry to have ruined your race. Waited some time then decided to carry on and finally saw you in the mirrors and managed then to go off road.

No you didn't ruin it SC, it actually made it quite fun. Sorry it took so long to rejoin, I was nose first up the bank so needed to reverse onto the track & had to wait until everyone had passed before reversing.

Spent most of the race in the company of Dan, we swapped places several times due to each of us making errors. Struggled the last 3-4 laps with the tyres, particularly T1 where I could not get the rear to stay behind the front no matter how fast or slow I took it. Finally lost control on the last lap through the T4/5 section & shot off track into oblivion. Roll Eyes

Congrats to the F3 meister Rog on another win & to Dan & Salesman on the podium.  clap clap clap
