Gents, sorry to drop this on you with a few days until the race, but we need to patch our F1 '75 install with the 1.1 patch below as it has several physics fixes.
However, the server will not be updated until this evening so if you intend to practise today then dont install it yet!  Hopefully the server will be patched from about 7.30pm tonight but look out for notices.

[RELEASED] FORMULA ONE 1975

!!!!!2018-04-02 PHYSICS UPDATE 1.1!!! Link at bottom of post
Changelog:
- Steering geometry of all mod cars changed. Enhanced Ackerman for better initial turn in and thus driving fun Smiley Somehow AC handles Ackerman geometry counter intuitive.

- Simply extract files to your car directory and overwrite previous version 1.05. (You need to have v1.05 full mod installed)

Download Physics update v1.1 (Need Full Mod v1.05 as base)

I have made the following changes to the server:

Updated the cars to the latest version

Reduced the race length to 5 minutes

altered the welcome text to say '1975 F1'

Could someone please confirm it is working correctly, if there is a problem i will be able to go back on the server after the GTL race

All works fine SRW, thanks for patching the server  Smiley

Patch to 1.1 folks.

Seems to have affected my saved setup though  Sad feared that when I read they had tweaked steering as that’s what I’ve worked on to get my laptime within a few tenths of Fabri  Cry now I’m getting oversteer on acceleration a tad.

will check that next time Fabri, thanks. I got to within a few tenths of my pb after more laps but the fine balance i'd spent time getting too isn't quite there now. Could just be because i'm practising after a long day at work  Tongue

@Bob/ Stefan, if you guys want to try my 'mortals' setups for any car i've tried, then drop me a pm with your email address. I'm in the 21's or low 22's with most of them.

Anyone know how long the softs will last?

I'm currently suffering from Lurgy - It's questionable if I'll even be on to practice tonight as a result.
If I'm off work tomorrow (highly tempting) I'll find time to practice in something or other - I'll be at the race regardless of anything short of actual death/hospitalisation though...

Lurgy eh...    I thought that died out years ago too  laugh

I might make this one yet, current plan has me getting home tomorrow afternoon in which case I can find time for a quick practice and joining the race

Ok, my job as test driver is completed.  Cheesy

I tryed most cars, at least the most famous ones. They all look pretty close in lap-times. I think that Tyrrell, Lotus, McLaren and maybe Ferrari (not drove) are a bit faster than rest, but only for few tenths. BRM is absolutely the most funny to drive.

About tyres. After 20 laps with Soft, I started have the rear left yellow from AC-app and a considerable oversteering, losing 1-2 seconds for lap. With Hard car seems not so slower as I thought, about 0,5-0,7s for lap. So I have no idea what tyres are better for race, maybe I will use the hard compound.
NB: With hard the rear tyres are smaller than soft ones so heights and gears speeds change.

PS: Mark, I went into 1.20 zone  Cool But I'm sure some people here will do better.
