Is Max around to host an impromptu test race session with his spare rig? (would need the new 1.2 update installed).

I can try hosting one tonight

will Brands GP do, since everyone is sure to have that...

you read my mind as was going to suggest Brands GP after seeing it was used as a non-points round this morning  Smiley

Dont forget to patch to 1.2 though for the f1 mod (if not already).

@fmg, here is a link to the '65 Nords track

ok, server is up and running (1.2 patch),  Brands GP,  15m qually, 45min race

I put 2 cars for each popular team, and 1 for the less popular to hit the max 24 car grid (brands limit), so hopefully everyone gets the car they expect

I jumped on and did a couple of laps, seems ok to me, but if someone else can test it and shout back that'd be great  Smiley

Had a quick few laps around Buenos Aires and it seems ok. This is a port from GTR2 so it doesn't look amazing but it's a decent circuit with some fast corners and some technical sections. There are a couple of bumps but once you know where they are they're no problem. 22 pitboxes.

I've raced here before, maybe F1 1988....anyone remember that series  Grin

Pleased to confirm we will be using Buenos Aires for Round 1 as per the real 1975 series  Smiley  Did some laps tonight with a full AI grid and Its a great race track and somewhere I haven't raced before. I will get the banner and first post updated when I get a chance.

Please put me in the Hesketh.
I've done considerable testing and it is currently giving (me) midfield pace Vs the faster cars.
Should slow me down a bit, at least until I properly suss the setups  ninja

What is midfield pace though Huh

I rung the neck of the Mclaren to get p4 on the grid, and in the race I had no answer for Jaris pace in the lotus while he was ahead - he actually pulled away from me through traffic.  I'm sure there's more there with a better setup and more practise / adjusting driving style for these cars, but I have no idea how much...

i dont think anyone knows where they are pace wise as we've all been car-hopping. Throw new tracks into the mix and its a lottery. Am sure you fast boys will rise to the top as per the norm but good to see the odd curve ball appearing like Jaris pace in the Lotus  Smiley
Wish there was a guide to setting these beasts up somewhere, i never really know if i should be running say a 3 or a 5 front wing etc. I tend to use GT car style setup tweaks which isnt ideal and i dont have the spare time to try endless setup configs.

Bit disallusioned that more names havent joined the ranks to fill out the grid a little more. I thought a full 75 season running this mod pack might polarise some historics enthusiasts from elsewhere  Undecided  it deserves a regular 15 car grid at least.

Interesting about the softs,  no idea how much difference per lap it makes though.  I matched my qually time(soft tyre) late in the race on low fuel (hard tyre), perhaps the difference was more familiarity with the car and driving it better after more laps  Huh

Is the Mclaren a fast car?  I've tried a few at sebring and done similar times so I'm not yet convinced any is massively quicker, but I don't want to end up driving away into the distance every race. Winning is nice but not when its a car advantage every time...
