Review of the 1975 F1 season, in 4 parts

Starts Weds 20th November

Modpack install required:-

Download F1 1975 Mod (version 1.2):
http://www.mediafire.com/file/hngms2664ytb92s/20191104_F1C75_Historic_F1_by_Bazza_v1.05_v1.2.7z/file
Pay attention to install notes in pdf included with Mod - You need to copy some files over for the Lotus 72 & Ferrari 312

Points
Points for the proposed series are adopted from the modern F1 series (excluding pole point). I almost adopted the historic points system but it only rewards the top 6 and i would prefer to encourage people to have something to race for.

1st= 25pts  2nd=18   3rd=15   12   10   8   6   4   2   10th=1pt

I'm in.
There is the possibility that I will soon change city for work, I hope to have time for racing.

I like the idea of only 2 identical cars. I would prefer the points system of the old F1, for the reasons I have often said. We did a championship in the SRO group and they used the old points system, it was very nice.

About tracks, '70s offer so many cool circuits.  Cool

I think in this era they didn't pit-stops.

i know what you mean about points but then where is the incentive for sim racers to keep going or fight harder for positions if there is no points at the end of it? Alas we dont get prize money and go-go girls for our achievements  Grin

Pitstops, well i dont mind either way but thought throwing a stop in might mix it up a bit. But happy to drop if most would prefer no stop.

Just need Argentina now for the full 1975 calendar, otherwise we can replace it with somewhere else.

hmm, seems it was never finished  Undecided last dated 2017.

Mosport was used in the 1976 F1 season, how about we use that instead of Argentina?  There was also Long Beach in 76 which i quite fancy using but again, cant find the link even though there are Youtube vids of it in AC.  Huh

That might do thanks Tony, though there is a 2019 version that is supposed to much improved over this one. Undecided

I don't know how much attention you would get but if it's a case of "nothing ventured, nothing gained" I would suggest posting an announcement in the Steam Assetto Corsa discussion area.
