Moderator's Report

A brilliant tactical race by Ziu, he used the draft on the final straight to snatch victory from Tristan on the line. Andreas had a chance to take the lead on the last corner but he had to settle for third place.

Server replay time: 0h00m58s

Lap 1 – Courbe de Gueux - Bastian Grupp and Francesco Molteni
Both drivers are clean away. Francesco keeps to the left and doesn’t deviate at all. Bastian is slightly quicker than Francesco and moves to the right to take up a position, albeit a car length back, between Francesco and Mark James. As the cars pick up speed, Bastian’s connection is interrupted, and he is lost from the server at 0h0m57s but he reappears at 0h0m58s. During the drop-out Bastian has closed on the rear of Francesco and unfortunately slight contact is made. This causes Francesco to spin off the track but he can continue with no apparent damage.

Neither driver did anything wrong, the contact was caused by a bad connection.

Season 35 1965F1 – Round 6 –  Reims

The sixth race in the 1965 series  will be in France at Reims. Reims-Gueux was first established in 1926 on the public roads between the small French villages of Thillois and Gueux. The circuit had two very long straights between the towns, and teams strove to maximize straight-line speed of their cars; many slipstream battles ensued. Race organizers actually felled trees and demolished old houses in order to make the circuit even quicker. International racing came with the first official Formula One event occurring in 1950, the inaugural year of the Formula One world championship. The circuit layout was shortened and changed in 1952 to bypass the town.
The season will be a mixed grid & free choice of chassis for all drivers. The damage model is intermediate & all drivers are permitted 1 x Reset, followed by a compulsory Stop & Go.

After a touch of the rear of James(sorry your braking point is too early compared with mine)my car have lost 10km in speed.
The lap time was 3-4 sec more than normal without the slipstream of other cars.So a race in a desert.

Great racing. Only slightly spoiled by a screen freeze on the final lap, just before the last corner.
The battle with team mate Dave C lasted just about the whole race, constantly swapping places. Even with the slipstream on the straights I had to take it a little easier in the corners as the cars were nose to tail. For the first half of the race we were joined by Fran, Bastian & Mike. Fran & Bastian had incidents & Mike left the party early.
Maybe the server crashed? No replay & have to run the whole race again?
Not a bad turn out tonight - shame we don't have a few more cars it was monstrous fun.

Sorry for that Billy after a great race, not deserved.
Sorry Fran, first corner contact, all cars vanished for about 3 Seconds.

There was a lot going on, all race!   I was probably the stopper in the bottle & Mike eventually had enough & drove into the distance.

Shame about your last lap issue.  I had a spin the previous lap & by the time I'd then gone off a couple more times, you were approx 10-12 seconds ahead & without the additional offs there was no way would I catch you again.  Especially without a big tow.

Was only as I crossed the line, could see you were reported as behind.

Congrats to the podium, some unbelievable times!

Cheers,
Dave.

No problem Fran.

After a tow I was travelling way faster than normal and had a car along side so maybe I braked a little earlier.

Great racing. Only slightly spoiled by a screen freeze on the final lap, just before the last corner.

Such bad luck Billy.

I had to take it a little easier in the corners as the cars were nose to tail.

Everybody was quite sensible through the turns and not going for silly moves as there was no need.
Good fun and then a lonely drive home hoping the engine lasted.

Not that this provides any answers, but I loaded the the server replay into GPLRA & did a 'Quality Analyse' on lap1 for everyone.

Yes Bastian - for you, lap1 quality shows as 97%,  largest online gap 3 seconds.
Additionally, your lap20 shows as quality 98%, 2 seconds largest online gap.
All your other laps were 100%, no gap.

All other drivers for lap1 show as 100%, no gap.

Same results from my player replay for you too.

(I didn't look at all laps for everyone...)

Cheers,
Dave.
