I was a very lucky 2nd, yesterday evening !

On the first lap and the first braking point, my Brabham hit the fence and immediately after I saw a green Lotus (Axel's car) in front of me hitting the wall. To avoid this car, I had to brake and turn right and I hit Andreas car.  Sad
I hope there were no big damages for Andreas car ...

So two collisions in 30 seconds but no real damage for my car.

Then I was running 5th with a big gap with the top 3 leaders, and Phil between leaders and me.
Ziu and Clive Loynes had to stop due to engine troubles.
And Phil made 1 or 2 mistakes which allowed me to push harder.
I could overtake him, it was not easy even with his "little" Brabham 2,7 L.

So I could say I was very lucky to finish 2nd.
Congratulations to Evil Clive, Phil and Tago, the 3 finishers
Bad luck for the quick Ziu and Clive L.
Don't know exactly what happened to Axel, Andreas and Francesco

By the way, it seems something is not working  with the Amateurs and Pros scoring on the 66' Championship page (only 8 tracks instead of 10).

You did not hit my car, maybe it was the one of Phil? After Clive L. dropped out I was in a good 3th spot. Then I hit a wall and suddenly the exhaust broke: Motor kaputt!  hang
Grats to the Podium and all Finishers.  clap

I haven't checked the replay but I overran one of the corners about halfway through lap 1. Another car did tap me & the front wheel was stuck in the barrier. Didn't matter as I worked out during qualifying that I had not learnt the track well enough & my chances of finishing 29 laps were very remote. I am not a big fan of street circuits.

Fixed that. When importing results the "reg class" needs to be set to either "Light" or "Heavy". Light for the Pros and Heavy for the Ams.

I tried hard and I made 1 mistake which lost me about 8 seconds and any chance of holding onto second place, you were just too quick. The difference between the 2L and 3L cars on the straight was huge so I'm pleased to have secured a third place. I've never races at Wiesbaden before, perhaps a 3L car would have been a better choice?  Roll Eyes

I've loaded the chassis the drivers used into the token calculator spreadsheet.  For the next race the available tokens will be as declared in the table below (the table will also appear in the next race announcement).  The calculated values are automated but selecting the cars is a manual process so please check your tokens to make sure I haven't made a silly error. There was no token overspend for this round so no one is disqualified.

First you have to find one that will go the distance!

I was too fast at the start, due also to the slipstream,at the entrance of the first curve i was in front of 2 option:the back of Andreas or some maneuver to avoid him.The maneuver was successful but my left wheel was trapped into the net.Race finished.

If it is any consolation Fran, you chose the right option. Thank you for being kind to your fellow drivers. Sorry you didn't finish the race, hope to do battle with you in the next round (if you are not too fast for me  Wink )

Yes I drove a 2litre car and so did Ziu, although Ziu had engine problems and retired.

This track was a little naughty I felt , because one half was ideally suited to a nimble 2 litre car and then that long straight was perfect for the big 3 litre monsters. I was torn between taking my favourite Brab BRM 2 litre or the Honda 3 litre, both were giving me roughly the same laptimes. But I decided that the smaller car was just a bit easier to drive and might avoid too many contacts with walls and fences.

Even so, I was caught out when the race started and I was racing closely with Ziu and Clive Loynes . I had not done any running with the AI and during quali I only managed a single run down that straight behind a 3 litre car. As a result my top gear was probably one or two clicks too low for safety. When I was behind Mr Loynes monster I had to back off, especially over that bump where the needle flicked dangerously high.
I think that I was fortunate when Clive and Ziu had problems and retired, because it allowed me to control my pace for the rest of the 20 laps and reach the finish.
I don't think my 2 litre car and the wrong gear would have survived the race if the pace of the first few laps had continued. Maybe Clive and Ziu just got unlucky with the GPL gods and the random failure demons which did seem harsh.
