Season 35 – 1966 Grand Prix – Round 7 – Monaco

Round 7 of the Historics Trophy  takes us to Monaco.

The full time drivers can start to practice as soon as the server is available.
Reserve drivers can also join as soon as the server becomes available but must leave the server with 35 minutes of qualifying left, for a total of 5 minutes; this will allow any remaining full timers to join.  If there is enough space on the grid, the reserve drivers will be able to rejoin when there are 30 mins of qualifying left.

Please read the championship specific rules on the championship standings page.
Password: see above
(2) Driver lists can be found on the championship standings page - 1966

There is no Red Zone. Moderating will be on reported incidents only. Remember that lap 1 incidents carry an additional penalty place.

The chassis token system is explained on the Historics Trophy standings page.

Please restrict chat to pit messages including at the end of the race until ALL drivers still racing have crossed the line.

A driver must have sufficient tokens for the chassis he drives in the race.  Any driver who does not have sufficient tokens will be disqualified from the result and his tokens will be set to zero.

The chassis a driver uses in qualifying are disregarded when determining his token spend.
Note:  This is to cater for the instances when a driver either does not start or inadvertently joins with the wrong chassis and subsequently rejoins the server in another.

Any tokens not spent at the end of the season are ignored and are not used to determine championship positions in the event of a tie.

PRO rules means Shift-Rs are not allowed at any time and the damage model is realistic.

Drivers must complete 50% race distance to score.

As a Pro driver you will be eligible for an initial 5 tokens plus 10 tokens for the race start. So that means, for this round, you cannot drive a car costing more than 15 tokens.

Congrats Axel, Rainier and Billy
Sorry but I like Monaco Roll Eyes . I was very surprized with my practice time. Nice to drive this 66 BRM P261 2,0 litres. I never drove him before (THX to your rules!). My last 66 mod race was was in 2014. I forgot a great mod especially under such token rules, where you have to drive cars you wouldn‘t drive otherwise.
My victory wasn‘t easy - a Monaco win is never easy - BUT it was a lucky one. It was Clives race. He had such an enormous speed, especially in the first lap +2,2 sec, in the first three laps +3,6 sec - up and away! I Am Not Worthy
So I only could find a secure rhythm for finishing. When I saw Clive going out of the race in the Gasometer, SRY for your bad luck, I reduce my speed once more - nice consisteny here!
THX for racing with you, hope I find time to see you next 66 race.

Monaco is just hard work - even harder if you drive at my speed. Half an apology to Rainier for holding you up in the early laps. I changed the set up a bit between equally & the race which wasn't a great idea. Only plus point was that I finished. Well done to the other finishers & hard luck to those that didn't.

...

Also same for me. Was in a good third spot. Very frustrating...This is now the third time in a row that my engine let me down in the 66Mod. Maybe I have to change something in the way that I am shifting?  Undecided

More likely that the 2.7Climax is a bit delicate. 3/4 2.7Climax cars dropped out with engine trouble. Only Axel survived! I think I will watch the replay and check the max revs Axel was using compared to the rest of us.

Looks like that is the answer. I was revving the engine harder than that.
