Moderator's Report

Another win for Clive after Tristan is demoted due to an incident on lap 4. Andreas picks up fine second place with Tristan claiming to final podium spot.

Server replay time: 0h06m50s

Lap 4 – Turn 8 - Tristan Bot and Ziu Bacubacu
Ziu is leading into Turn 8 and brakes at his normal place and speed. Tristan rear-ends Ziu. Unfortunately, Ziu was upended and didn’t manage to reset so he was out of the race.

Ziu did nothing wrong. Tristan braked too late. Whilst Ziu may have braked earlier than Tristan expected, it is the following driver’s responsibility to avoid contact. This incident was very early in the race and so there was plenty of time for Tristan to watch Ziu for a few laps before picking a safe place to try to overtake. Ziu did not have to make things easy for Tristan, he was within his rights to try to defend vigorously but within the rules as he did at all times. Tristan must shoulder responsibility for this incident.

Season 35 1965F1 – Round 8 –  Mont Tremblant

The ninth race in the 1965 F1 series will be staged at Mont Tremblant in Canada. Circuit Mont-Tremblant is a 4.26 km (2.65 mi) race circuit about 13 km (8.1 mi) south of the village of Mont-Tremblant in Quebec. The name of the village of Saint-Jovite was often included in the name of the circuit.

The first two sections of the circuit were built in 1964 and extended by another mile into September 1965. The extension featured long straights and by virtue of the terrain, a small hill. Nicknamed "the Hump" it gained legendary status during the inaugural 1966 Can Am race. Two drivers in practice found that their cars, both near identical Lola T70 CanAm cars, launched themselves into the air. Both drivers emerged unhurt but were unable to compete in the race. The Canadian winters quickly rendered the track surface very bumpy and as a result, the attrition rate was quite high in the two Canadian Grand Prix Formula One events staged at the circuit.
The season will be a mixed grid & free choice of chassis for all drivers. The damage model is intermediate & all drivers are permitted 1 x Reset, followed by a compulsory Stop & Go.

Sorry to miss another race. Work is inconveniently interfering with my racing again. Have fun.

I blew an engine on lap3 which put me near the back and about 17 seconds down on Dave.

Had a good chase and some consistent laps to catch and pass him which kept my concentration high.

The last 5 laps or so I felt a little down on power so tried to look after things to the end with Dave buzzing around in the tow.

Fun race and less lonely than normal.
