The stop went just fine, but it turns out, for whatever reason, the game automatically turns off the pitlane limiter when you make a stop, so I oversped on the exit and got a 10 secs stop/go penalty... Is this something to do with server settings or is it the game? I don't really remember this from my racing years back.

Yes, the pitlane limiter turns off when you restart from the pit, you have to put on again before restart.
