Moderator's Report

There were several reports about the start. This mess was caused by a lagging internet connection from Jonm_UK. His car lagged for a few seconds and then warped.

I also received some reports about Popabawa overtaking before start/finish. All he did was trying to avoid other cars without slowing down too much.

Also some drivers seem to think overtaking before start/finish is against the rules. In fact the rules formerly stated that drivers should not start to accelerate before the leader crossed start/finish.

With the new starting procedure this isn't the case anymore. As of now drivers should close the gap to the driver in front and engage their pitlane speedlimiter 2 corners before start/finish straight. When the leader crosses start/finish he shall disengage the speedlimiter. Drivers are only allowed to disengage the speedlimiter after the driver in front does so.

At the first lap Bernie Lomax overtakes Filipe Galego at the long straight before the hairpin. When he is past Filipe he goes to the left and starts braking.

This incident was caused by Bernie cutting right in front of Filipe which gave him little time to react. Therefore the penalty will be reduced to 1 place penalty.

  • Filipe Galegopenalty — rearending Bernie Lomax — 1 place lost

Shark is somewhat faster than Popabawa at the start of the Lycee complex and attempts to overtake Popabawa here. At the turn in point he is still half a car's length behind Popabawa.

Shark couldn't have made a clean pass as Popabawa couldn't have known Shark was next to him. Shark knows he isn't going to make it and tries to back out. There is light contact without further damage.

  • Simon Gymer (Shark)warning — minor contact with Popabawa
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Maverick is slowly driving back to the pits. Zacari is closing in on him on the straight before the Imola chicane and has to brake because he is unable to pass him. Maverick was driving in the middle of the track which held up Zacari a bit, but judging from the replay Zacari couldn't have made a safe pass before the Imola chicane.

Server replay time: 3382s

Maurice comes up to lap Bernie as Bernie rounds Chateau Deau. Bernie gets a better exit and as a result chooses to take the racing line through the next kink. Maurice misunderstands his intentions, tries to pass down the inside at the kink and has to take to the grass when he realises Bernie wants the line too. Bernie also chooses to keep Maurice behind at the next 2 corners, making him wait till the next lap to overtake.

Bernie did nothing wrong according to the rules, holding his line and expecting Maurice to find a way round him. On the other hand there were opportunities to perhaps let Maurice by earlier which might have avoided the confusion. Drivers should note the recent clarification to the lapping rules which requires lapped drivers to not hold up lapping drivers unnecessarily.

Maurice Claessen is gaining fast on Gerald. Maurice slows down to Gerald's speed at the Imola chicane. Gerald is suddenly very slow in the middle of the corner and contact can't be avoided anymore.

Rich_A is about to lap Popabawa at Estoril. As GT's accelerate faster Rich_A carries more speed out of the corner. Rich_A is intending to pass Popabawa on the left while there clearly isn't any room and no sign Popabawa is going to the right. Suddenly he finds himself less than half a car's lenght behind Popabawa. As a result Popabawa chooses to avoid contact and runs onto the grass.

Will be a nervous Saturday afternoon me thinks...

I'm supporting England as of now, that's for sure Cheesy Nooo, let them keep the rule for now. Let Figo do his thing again (acting Wink) and he will be suspended for the next match, should they make it to the semi-finals, which they won't Tongue

At least they won't use an exploit in the sim Wink. But you're right about the sim, they indeed are full of bugs.
