Championship standings HERE

Grid/server capacity: 22

Car/Track download available by pm to WT

Track: Brno '65 GP

Car restrictions: Four drives maximum per Division. Check your car allowance here

Points: We are recreating the scoring system that was used in the 1983 ETCC. Overall race result, top 6 scored 9-6-4-3-2-1, In each division, top 10 scored 20-15-12-10-8-6-4-3-2-1.

Practice: ~19:20 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:20 (20 mins) Drivers must not leave qualifying to change car make.
Race: 20:40 (11 laps)

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: x2
Pit stops required: YES

Server: simracing.org.uk Wednesday
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: No start lights or flagman so make sure you have the countdown timer switched on.

I was just testing the Metro, but it seems it's just 1-1.5 laps short of making the distance with a single stop. Was there any patch for its fuel tank/consumption or am I mistaking it for another car?

All cars should need 2 stops Hristo, the last race at Mugello was a bit odd as the track seemed to have lower than normal fuel consumption.

It was the VW Golf that had the fuel tank patch.

Lost connection at the end of lap one  Sad

I never had disconnection problems in all these years. Changed my provider over a year ago (now Vodafone instead of Telekom)
and today it's not the first time that this happened.

My car was fine, but I was the hazard!! apologies to Dan and Dominik who must have been inconvenienced by my crazy progress. In the end I think I broke it completely  Huh
That Metro is an absolute pig  Undecided I was terrified of using the brakes , so had to coast and downshift into corners, the only thing in its favour was the straight line speed....plus I had gone for ultra high gears and only needed the one stop  shifty, but I never made it far enough to capitalise  Undecided

I was in awe of Dimitar, who flew past me and stood on the brakes in his Metro without shooting off into the forest!!!

at least I have used the car and don't have to touch it again lol.

Grats to all the podium guys and to everyone who finished.

This evening was an experiment that failed. I didn’t know the track so had no idea when to brake. I had to swap from my ‘H’ shift setup to a sequential one that I wasn’t familiar with because the shifter was playing up. I let everyone past and toured round at the back for practice. Lots of bumps with walls and hay bales. I let someone past, lost concentration (again) and ended up facing the scenery. Then spent a couple of minutes trying to find reverse in sequential mode. I decided it didn’t exist but then had the bright idea to switch the shifter to ‘H’ mode. It worked so decided to continue driving in ‘H’ mode. The only problem was every time I selected 2nd gear it put me in reverse. I ended up sideways blocking the track so thought it a good time to end the comedy and retire to the pits. Must fix the shifter.

Grats winner and podiums. Some people must have worked hard to learn this track. clap clap clap

What shifter do you need, I think I have a couple taking up space in my shed.

If anyone wondered about my bizarre behaviour: At my 2nd pitstop my crew chief never showed up. And although I must've been more or less in the right spot, nothing happened. I could quit, I could go around the buildings but that would have likely ended in a Wrong Way DQ so I decided to go round the track with 0.7 laps of fuel. I coasted a lot, short shifted by a mile, but I don't think I would have made it without a little pushing by Dan. Thanks mate, and that was funny.
Don't worry, I kept out of the way and if there had been as much of a hint of an incident threatening to happen, I'd ESC'ed in a flash.

Not much to say about the race otherwise. Everyone seemed to be in a league of their own with very little interaction. Not sure I'm a fan of multi class races to be honest.

One thingy that will shock Geoff and Daz: After some laps, I started to -wait for it- like the Escort.  Shocked

Grats to podium and the survivors.  thumbup1
