I have autostart for most installations of this. One for some reason won't go into neutral with the paddles
I have to use the neutral key(probably because I have set one) If I have left it in a gear then it will try to
start but die immediately

Regarding XD.............

2.1.16 is the latest version. Go here if you need to upgrade http://www.vitumo.de/

My drivers position table was also messing around last night. It's something to do with the track mod rather than XD itself I think.

Occasionally I get the fuel problem with XD when it stops telling me the estimated # of laps left with current fuel load/use. I last had it at Dundrod which wasn't helpful.

Result_Race 2

 Cool

After Race One I made some changes concerning the setup, but obviously in the wrong direction: hardened the suspension and increased tyre pressure,
but no changes concerning tyre wear and slightly slower during the race.

Unfortunately couldn't catch Roger in the last corners, but was another fun race.

Thanks for the hints concerning the setup. Only realized the possible increase of the rev limit, not the rear wing stuff. Will give it a try.

Hi Thanks for replies Erling and Tony perhaps i spend to much time looking at XD.

RE: auto clutch have assigned a button to switch auto clutch off and on the only difference i notice is gear change smooth with on and slightly joggy with off no difference at start. If i fit clutch pedal can you slip clutch in GTL for start?

My first car was a Fiat Ritmo 100S. I had a few friends with so-called hot hatches with whom we made, erm..., quiet strolls down the country lanes (yeah, that). One of them had a Renault 5 GT Turbo. Now I do have a lousy memory but I can still categorically, unequivocally confirm that that car did NOT have a rear wing. It's no wonder that setup is still a Dark Force to me even after a decade when you apparently have to tweak non present car parts!
I think I picked out an R5 TC because I couldn't keep up with anyone, let alone challenge them, unless they made a big mistake. Given the number of races still to come, I'll have to beg, steal or borrow a setup so I can at least be part of the fun. Here's looking at you, Mr. 1.51.762  Grin

Congratulations to the podiums and I bow to all who understand setup, lol.

Dom, check out the online setups, folder 'ETCC83', there is a setup in there for the Renault along with all the other cars for the upcoming 83 ETCC series. I may have tweeked it a bit for Le Mans but it is basically what I used on Wednesday. Oh yeah you probably will need to move the brake bias much more to the front, I think I ran 65/35 in race 2 to help the tyres.

With auto clutch on and using a clutch pedal at the start, it seems the game 'auto slips' the clutch - no matter how quickly I drop the pedal, the car always starts moving slowly.  Just did some experimentation with auto clutch off. You CAN slip the clutch, but it was with the merest of travel of the pedal, so really difficult to do.  Can't say if setting a larger dead zone might help.

How did you assign a button for auto clutch?   I would like to do that, but can't find it among the functions you can assign to buttons in GTL.  Did you use an external key mapping software or driver setting ?

Also experimented with starting a stalled engine. Managed to start it in most cases. Wasn't aware that there's a small delay from you hit the starter button, till the car actually starts.  Sometimes though, it would enter a 'mode' where it wouldn't start, but a combination of putting it in and out of gear, pressing and letting go of the clutch, and possibly fiddling with ignition too, usually got it started again.  Also found it very easy to jumpstart the car, if on an incline and rolling, even very slowly. Pressing the clutch, entering a gear and then dropping the pedal gets it started - in both forward and reverse, depending on the direction it's rolling in.

Thanks, but that's the clutch function itself isn't it ?    Can't find anywhere to assign the auto clutch toggle on/off to a button.

Thanks also for the warning, but went wrong anyway - as soon as you click 'keyboard', your wheel is lost it seems.

I think that Auto-Clutch is enabled/disabled only through the Control Panel.

No, you can toggle it on/off with 'F2', so it can be done on the fly while you're on track. I would just like to assign a wheel button for it, but as far as I can tell, it necessitates using a key mapping software, to put 'F2' on a wheel button.
