UKGTL Season 20 Renault 5 Turbo Cup - Charade - Feb 26

OK.
a) Double checked that there are no other Renault 5 files in my folders.
b) Deleted the recently installed Renault 5 d/load, so now zero Renault 5's in this dedicated GTL
c) Re-download Renault 5 from Race post and install into GTC-TC-76
d) Check that new Renault 5 folder is there and contains various files...looks OK.
e) Fire up GTL and select 09 Charade and opt for Cobra, just to test the circuit file. Track loads fine and I am able to drive Cobra out of pits.
f) Rewind and select #9 Ren 5........track almost loaded and CTD

I have done a trace file as per instructions and here are the last 10 lines

Good job you can Tony, baffled me. Trace on mine is like Clives until the line beginning 'vehgfx.cpp   2552:' where it carries on loading the Renault 5 graphics.

Trace says there's an error opening STEX.GTR, which means it cannot find the file where it expect's it to be. I have sent Clive a zip file download containing the missing file plus some others he will probably not have. Now we wait and see. (this is Clive were dealing with  )

Maybe I should contact GCHQ and offer my services as a saboteur of foreign hi tech??? 

This message is coming from my laptop, so I will try Tony's fix on my racing rig later. That will give you time to enjoy an evening meal in relative peace and tranquillity.

Not able to find which or where the mesh file is supposed to be, I reached the limit of my GTL knowledge   so I'll happily receive your "additional files". Thanks.

I also have a small issue with the cars not displaying in the showroom, neither in the small image where you normally know which car you bought or not... Not a major issue though, and I guess it might be fixed with the additional files.

Edit: I finally managed to edit Renault_5.cas again so that the game doesn't crash anymore (not sure if the driver looks like expected though), but if the files fix the showroom it would be great

Tony, I have my #25 car both as GTC76 & TC65, but fuel capacity appears to be the same - 54 litres.   Maybe I should sell all my Renaults, to get them out of my garage, delete all references to the car and then reinstall including the fix ? 

Agree about the track - some proper crazy elevation changes there!

You requested earlier that we use the same one as in the 1983 ETCC series.  However, when looking in my download file for that series, it has the Renault in the TC-65 folder, along with the Escort & Rover Metro.

The updated separate Renault 5 download on the other hand has the car in the GTC-TC-76 folder, so which is it - drive the 1983 ETCC with the Renault 5 from the updated Renault 5 download, or drive the Renault 5 Cup with the one from 1983 ETCC ?

You should only have the R5T in the GTC-TC-76 folder. Delete it from the TC-65 folder if it is still there. This applies to both the R5TC and the 83ETCC. I have pm'd you all the files you need.

You should only have the R5T in the GTC-TC-76 folder. Delete it from the TC-65 folder if it is still there. This applies to both the R5TC and the 83ETCC. I have pm'd you all the files you need.

I deleted all references to it yesterday and installed the updated version, in GTC-TC-76 folder, after writing to you.  It worked online, but I will verify that it's the same as those files you've sent me now.

I will need to install this later. I have 3 GTL installs, one won't see the Bellet, one won't run the FrenchF3 (doesn't matter now)
and that one has lost all on line config, and the one I had to install the Cobra to for Monday is now my only fully working install.
I have run the R5 before, but I had all sort of forgotten issues, and I can't remember which GTL copy it was on,
so will attempt to install on my GTL I used Monday.

If there is not any previous R5 in any dir, can I expect it to "just work" or do I need some extra stuff?
