At the end of the race I apologized to Geoff for rearending him at T1 cause I braked a bit late cause my foot slided on the brake pedal  Embarrassed
Then watching replay I found that it was helped by Erling Jag that hit me and Matt, so a sort of domino  Grin
I waited for Geoff to restart but then we were in good company with Matt and Erling waiting each other so with my great surprise I found that Geoff wasn't so good in the AC and he let me by gently when I try a pass at last turn. After some offs by Matt and Erling my target was Tony that I passed cause a mistake by him at T1. The next was Andy that was on the same machinery so very difficult to pass even if in some places I was faster. I decided to follow him without battle too much to not overheat tires, but Andy had a moment at T1 and I passed.
At that point Clive was 14 sec. ahead and we had the same pace so no chance to catch him till XD said he was stopped at two lap to go. I was lapped by Dimitar and soon after at the last lap I passed a red car that I thought Tony. Watching replay I found it was Clive that had some offs in the last two laps and the server must have DQed him, but he ended 4th right behind me.
Congrats Geoff for champ, and I am happy to finish forth even if I couldn't attend some races.

Grats to the race winners and the championship winners.

Fulvio is right about about something "odd" happening around lap 45, when the server appears to have decided it did not like me. Until then I was content in 3rd place. DD and Daz were just a little too quick and I found that I was able to adjust my pace to maintain the  14 sec gap to Fulvio.
I was so confused and distracted by my sudden loss of a lap, and 2 places, that I totally lost concentration, spending more time looking at the positions on HUD ( expecting them to self correct, but they didn't!!).  Please do not bother about correcting any results Tony, it is of little overall importance and I am really not bothered.

Of more interest to me was something that Dimitar pointed out when we met on the practice server on Wed afternoon.
I had seen, and simply passed over/ignored,  the sliders in the CONTROLS settings that adjust the sensitivity levels.  Mine were all at 100% and had never been changed since I started GTL!! When DD told me that his "Accelerator" was set at 5% I was stunned. Well of course, I had to try some adjustments. 5% was just too alien, too soon, but I then spent about 30 mins offline experimenting, The result was that for the first time I could drive a car with the Vintage tyres. Previously I had discounted them as undriveable and opted for the alternatives, which appeared to wear out faster.

The race was the true test, and I discovered that a setting of 50% preserved my tyres and dialled out some of the tank slappers that I have always struggled with. I still need to tweak and test, but maybe this explains why I destroy my tyres faster than some of you other guys.

I am happy to help Clive, but bear in mind that the less percentage means less sensitivity.

Just checked my settings Clive.  They were all 51%.  Can't recall having messed with them tbh, so can't say how mine arrived at that level.

50% is supposed to give you a linear response from the pedals. I think DD's 5% will mean that he has not a lot of response in the first part of pedal travel but a fast response in the last part. Your 100% Clive would give a fierce response early in the travel & less response in the upper part of the travel, which is why you may have struggled with snap oversteer.

Thanks for the responses guys. I did try DD's 5% setting and it gave a totally different "feel" to the car. I have been simracing for around 20yrs now and this is the first time that I have even contemplated the "settings" issue.

What it has clearly demonstrated thus far, is that I steer a car using the throttle, far more than I realised that I did. Dimitar's 5% worked with his setup ( although it felt wierd ) but when I tried it with one of mine, the car understeered like a super tanker!!

Geoff's comment regarding my snap oversteer is probably spot on, and I now need to find time/bother to do some practice runs, educate my right foot and get used to actually "steering" the car around a corner instead of provoking some oversteer and sliding through the apex with a handful of opposite lock.

Ah!? How to change the habits of a lifetime  Roll Eyes This might be a slow evolution lol.
