Championship Standings here

Grid/server capacity: 20

RACE ONE

Practice: ~19:25 (60 mins)
Qualifying: 20:25 (5 mins) Drivers must not leave qualifying to change car make. One attempt at a timed lap only
Race: 20:30 (18 laps)

Track: Symmons Plains Download this

Cars allowed: Isuzu Bellett 1600GT Download this
Mazda RX-3 Gr.2 Download this (Exclude car #41CY)
                       Toyota Corolla KE30 Download this
                       Hillman Imp Download this
Ford Cortina Mk.3 (pm WT for download link)

To fix the Mazda, so that it shows up in-game, download this http://www.mediafire.com/file/enf9cr3zrsl8o81/Mazda_TC-65_Cars.zip/file
and overwrite the existing car files.

To fix the Toyota, so that it shows up in-game, download this http://www.mediafire.com/file/fn73n5uhzxlzlmu/Toyota_TC-65_cars.zip/file
and overwrite the existing car files.

Car restrictions: One drive maximum per make/per night. You decide which race you enter which make in.

Time of Day Setting: 14:00
Start: STANDING
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: Normal
Pit stops: Not required

Server: simracing.org.uk Wednesdays
Password: see above

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules.
(3) The AI control should be turned off so that you have control of the car at all times, including pitting. Your player file should therefore read
Autopit="0"
Force Autopit Off="1" // Forces autopit always off
No AI Control="1" // AI never has control over car
If you still finding pitting problematic, experience tells us that its less to do with positioning and more to do with approach speed. A slow approach to pit crew chief has proved most reliable.

Special Notes: None.

This is a read me intended for newcomers to this series.

There are three races per night.

There are five car makes available.

You must drive three makes per night. Therefore you must change cars after every race. Your choice, which make, in which race.

Qualy is one hot lap only. Once you set a time you must Esc out. You may make more than one outlap but only one hot lap.

Hello all, I have two question, regarding the three races, are we obliged to do all three or can we only do one or two, regarding the announced hours, are they in GMT?

Well I was unlucky again this week. Last week I was unable to join. Probably because I selected the wrong Mini Class. I had actually practiced before the races. Again this week I had practiced in the Corolla but could not join in that car (car not present on server). I think when following Tony’s link something went wrong and I must have downloaded the wrong car set. I could join in the Imp for practice. I have two operating systems in my PC case and cant access SR.org.uk’s website on the one I have GTL installed so had to shut the PC down and switch over to the other one, re download the Corolla set then go through the procedure again and reinstall the car pack. Just missed the start of the race but tried to join for race 2 in the Imp which I knew was OK. At first it loaded but every time Coyote loaded the screen just flashed and locked up. It showed him driving a Mini Cooper. I don’t know what caused the problem, I guess it might have been I did not have the car he was driving in my car set. I may try again next week, third time lucky?

I hope all enjoyed there racing. thumbup1

EDIT: Oops… oops Just spotted Tony’s fixes for Mazda and Toyota I didn’t download and install. Roll Eyes

Congratulations for the idea to have three races with three different cars mandatory. It was so much fun as all of the drivers was well prepared and the fair play, as always here, was on very high level. At the end we had a great evening full with tremendous racing.

Race 1 was the best one for me, as i had brilliant tactical chase with Dan who took the pole just by half tent of the second from me  Grin. I was a little bit quicker on the corners and he was a little bit faster on the straights and acceleration so it was very hard to issue an attack. At the end a small mistake cost me the chance to fight for the win until the end. After that another mistake in the hairpin once again costed me the second place, so i finished in P3.

The second race was so hard. The car was stable but man, so slow. I started 10th last but was able to manage 5 positions gain.

The third race was the worst. The car was not set up right for braking and i made a slip before the hairpin on the hard braking. After that we had great chase with Tony, Fulvio, Geoffers and Silvino. Unfortunately i hit Fulvio at the second corner and i am really sorry to him. At the end i finished down at P8 with another big mistake.

Congrats to the winners and the podium guys and to Silvino for the great debut and sportsmanship driving.

I want to congratulate all the podiums and the other drivers for the beautiful races, this was my first time here at UKGTL and I must say that I really liked it, unfortunately I didn't make it in time for the first race but apart of some mistakes I had good fights in the other two, congratulations to the organization see you next time.

I leave you with my onboard

A higher authority has now pointed out my error and has kindly fixed it, so results should now be Ok.
