There's now an experimental iCalendar feed available from this url, which includes the next 30 days' events. This can be used to import the data into any calendar which supports iCalendar, including Google Calendar and Outlook.

What is iCalendar?

It's a semi-standard format for the exchange of calendar type information. Google is your friend.

Dave,

A small problem to report...

When I import the calendar into google calendar, the times of the events are correct.

However, if I try to 'publish' that calendar, it brings all the event times 8 hours forward;
http://www.google.com/calendar/embed?src=ifpbr4c0khk5tu133p1bt9ia6id9foh6%40import.calendar.google.com

A clue to the problem might be that it's showing the time zone of this calendar to be;
Calendar Time Zone: (GMT-08:00) Pacific Time (US & Canada), Tijuana

Cheers, Pops.

Sounds like it's doing the right thing. Events are published using UTC ('Zulu') times so if the calendar you're using isn't using the UK timezone it'll shift the times appropriately. I suspect you just need to set the timezone properly.

Not quite sure what you mean by 'publish' the calendar - is that just sharing it? I can't access the link given, it says "Sorry, this calendar does not have public access enabled. If you are the calendar owner, you can make this calendar public on the calendar sharing settings page".

Hmmm... when I import it into Google Calendar, there's no option to change the time zone, it just selects 'GMT - 8:00' itself.

I can't make it public either...

There's no timezone at all when I import. Individual calendars can have their timezones changed by clicking Manage Calendars and then the calendar name, and you can change the default using Manage Calendars and then General, or Settings (which takes you to the same place).

If I click on 'manage calendars' then 'https://www.simracing.org.uk/lm2/icalendar.php' (the name of the calendar) it does take me to the settings page but there's option to change the time zone Sad

Ah, I see how you've imported it now. Hmm, will have to look at how to change the default timezone.

Hmm, well I think I know in theory how to "fix" it, but technically it's not wrong anyway. Undecided I can't actually make the change right now because the library of code I'm using to generate the file doesn't yet support timezone creation.

If you create another calender instead of importing it directly, and then import the ICS file into that calendar using the Import doohickey in Manage Calendars it "forgets" the original default timezone and takes on the timezone of the Google calendar. Not ideal but it works.

Cheers, Dave. I see where the confusion was previously.

Originally I was trying to import it via; 'Add Other Calendar' -> 'Public Calendar Address'

If I create a new calendar and import the .ics file it works as expected. As you say, not ideal as I have to remember to re-import it every week or so Sad

Great idea. It imports perfectly into iCal on the Mac by the way.
