Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 596s

Flybri enters T5 with Bernie Lomax right behind. Bernie closes on Bri as he has a better line and grip through the corner and taps Flybris' rear causing him to spin off. Bernie states that Bri had locked up his front giving him a poor entry speed and sending his car higher up the banked turn off the racing line. Bernie syas he gets good entry speed and is on a good line when Bri tried to bring his car back on the racing line. Bernie is in no position to make a safe pass and should have been more cautious, I dont hear any attempt from Bernie to back off in the replay, in fact I'm certain theres a dab of accelerator just before contact. The replay clearly shows Bernie moving up the bend as he hits Flybri. This incident could have been avoided.

  • Bernie Lomaxpenalty — Rear end tap resulting in victim spinning. — 2 places lost

Server replay time: 759s

FlyBri is behind Baz West going down te S/F straight, Bri brakes very late and rear ends BAz causing Baz to spin and lose several places.

  • FlyBri (Flybri)penalty — Late braking resulting in side collision — 2 places lost

Server replay time: 1288s

BillThomas has OSiriS behind him on the long staraight after T1. Bill is so concerned about getting in other drivers ways that he moves right over to the left of the track, he misses his braking point completely wiping out the marker board swerves back onto the track and grazes OSiriS car. Bill is very apologetic to any driver he may have inconvenienced, he is new to this game and realises he is slow, but he is learning and improving.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 1649s

Bernie Lomax and Mark Jonzo are battling hard foe 9th place. Coming down the back straight, Mark brakes a little late and taps Bernies rear sending them both off. Mark makes the faster recovery and gains a place, and makes no effort to allow Bernie back through to his original position.

It's the only car I could manage 2 consecutive clean laps, so figured it would be the most stable for me to try race with.

Oh, it's not a problem. But when you drive online all you see is 911's. That takes away the variety. I would love to see some Pantera's, Vettes and Escorts.

I'm not sure about the escort, but you don't want a beginner like me trying to race online in a 'Vette or Pantera. Not only would it be hell for me, I'd probably end up take a few out with me

Try the faster Capri - personally I find it much easier to handle than the 911.

Oversteers far too much for my liking, and setup options are limited making it hard to get rid of it. I spent about 2 hours and 50 laps getting the 911 setup to my liking, and another 70 laps getting somewhat comfortable with it. For the time being I need to concentrate on learning to drive. Once I can I'll get adventurous with my car choice.

Holy mozes, that's some practice laps. I can't remember ever doing that Shocked. Atleast you are dedicated to racing.
Were all those laps close to eachother, were you consinstent. If so, you'll have a good chance of finishing in the top 10.
What was you time anyway?

At the moment I can lap pretty consistently in the 1:45s usually a few 10ths between depending how badly I take some of the corners. Put my best splits together I'd probably be dropping into the high 1:43s, but at the moment my PB is a 1:44.6. Looking at gplrank I wouldn't be surprised if pole this evening will be in the 1:39s so I still have 5 seconds to find ... just not for this race;) I've only been driving on and off a couple months, and seeing as I've never driven either the car or the track I need all the practice I can get. It's funny how all the laps add up when you get into it, though I have a sneaking suspicion theres 20-30 aborted laps in there too. This is over 3 days though, so I doubt 40 laps a day is particularly excessive.

One tiny advice...never look at GTLrank when you wanna know what you are up against. There a some fake times floating around, but also some extreme times. The problem with these times is that you have no idea what aids they were using or if it was a one-lap-wonder setup.
1:43's aren't bad times. I bet if I get in a 911 I wouldn't even get there.

I don't look at the top times, generally I aim for the top Irish times which I managed to beat this time out, but the times that I was watching were those set by SROU members which look to be mainly in the 1:41-142s.

punted off yet again censored cursing, left me more or less at the back of the field(had a nice battle with don over a few laps, then he slid off somewhere), after that going round with nobody anywhere near to race, still p*ssed off i  hit escape and quit which i very rarely do, but i am getting totally f**ked off with being rear end/punted off the track. Cant remember last race where i finished without being hit censored

starting to wonder if all the practice is worth the bother if this is how my races are going to end up.............. Sad

rant over

Horrible race for me there. Slipped off one of the banked turns on the formation lap. Managed to get into a good rythmn for a few laps, catching the guys ahead of me,  until I had to drive off the track to avoid hitting someone recovering from an off. This left me with no grip into the next corner it seems and my race was more or less over from there. It took me about 6-8 laps of constant spins and offs before I could find some grip again, but even then it seemed sporadic.
