Moderator's Report

Assassino twice used his headlights when behind drivers he was racing for position (320 and 454s), this was a daylight race and he was not lapping the car in front. Use of lights in this manner is unnecessary and contrary to race rules.

  • ASSASSINO ([GS]ASSASSINO)warning — Unnecessary use of headlights
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

There were some comments made using in-game chat before the race had ended, and then some foul language used after the end of the race.

Drivers are reminded that only pit in/out messages are permitted whilst qualifying and racing are underway, any other use of chat is forbidden, and that inflamatory or offensive chat messages are unacceptable within SimRacing.org.uk.

Server replay time: 0

Aagramn runs wide at Schwantz Curve, has no control over the car as it rejoins the circuit and heaviliy impacts Baz West forcicing Baz Off. Aagramn has apologised for the incident and retired from the race. In my opinion, Aagramn was not trying to make a pass and had little or no control over the car once it had left the track. The resulting impact was unavoidable.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 40s

JohnnyDee jumps the rolling start procedure catching the rear of Assassinos car in the process. Assassino has requested no penalty be given. 2 place penalty mitigated to a warning.

Server replay time: 1629s

Bill Thomas swerves to avoid the disco'd car of Dan Minton, his car leaves the track and impacts the barrier. The damage is sufficeint to force Bill to retire. Locutos had a the same problem seconds earlier but was mor fortunate and managed to limp home.

Dan has apologised but he was disconnected from game.

No blame apportioned - technical fault

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 2325s

Assassino, Shark and Madd-RIP enter Redgate in the order stated. Assassino has the inside line with Shark on his left rear bumper. Assassino appears to move ahead when Shark kisses his rear bumper sending him into a spin. The replay clearly shows Assassino moving ahead through the corner and with Shark already off the throttle he would logically not have expected to close on Assassino. There is no contact noise and Shark was unaware they had touched. Madd touches Sharks right rear almost at the same time sending Shark wide, Madd slows to allow Shark to re-pass.

  • Racing incident

UKGTL Ladder - TC-65 at Donington (National)

This is the third race of the new rolling ranking a.k.a. 'the Ladder'. All members welcome.

Date: Thursday 6th July

Practice: 20:30 (15 mins)
Qualifying: 20:45 (20 mins)
Race: 21:05 (27 laps = ~40 mins)

Cars allowed: Any TC-65; special guest car: the Lotus Elite
Time of day: 12:00 (midday)

Server: UKGTL Ladder; in the event that the lobby is unavailable, connect using Direct IP, entering games.avonrise.co.uk in the Add IP box
Password: See this post

Notes:
(1) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(2) Please make sure you are fully aware of the SimRacing.org.uk Rules. Note in particular that we will be using the new pit lane speed limiter starting procedure.
(3) General information on the ladder can be found on the series home page.

Ooh, never tried the Elite, could be worth a punt.

The NTL monkey is coming 4th July, so ya never know he might (a) turn up (b) fix whatever the problem is.

Woohoo, awesome track .

Gonna go with the aircraft carrier (Falcon), so much fun here.

After this race there are no events for a long time, is that summerstop or are you still planning?

New EU legislation means we can't run any more events ever. Tongue

Or we just haven't put anything in the calendar yet. Tongue

Does anyone have any objections to us testing the new skin pack (available here) in this race?

Not me, I love to see teambased skins. As long as the skinpack is just one file, and not millions files with even more fixes etc. Luckily that's not the case with this skinpack. Downloading now...

Presumeably those of us, who for various reasons, have not been able to supply our own custom skins will still be able to race using existing GTL skins?

I like the couple of Alfa skins I have incorporated in my GTL - very professional - and an incentive for me to have a go.  Being a new boy I have been concentrating on driving at Professional Level.  Also whilst incorporating skins on another league I had a problem (of my own making) which, together with holidays, has limited time available for things like this.

David

Please bear with me, I'm new to this skins game. I have already downloaded and use the excellent Team Shark 906 skin from their site. I have now downloaded the skin pack. If I install this does it mean that when I race in the UKGTL races I will see the various team members in their team cars, even though I am still using a bog standard boring GTL-supplied car?

Sorry to be a pain.

Yep, that's exactly what it means. In fact, if you don't install the skins, those cars which are using them will be invisible to you. That would be Bad(tm).
