Shark is following Whitham into T1 and is caught out by the difference in braking points. Shark realised he was going to rear end Whitham and pressed Esc, unfortunatly both cars went off as a result of the contact.

  • Simon Gymer (Shark)penalty — Rear end collision. — 2 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Well, not bad looking that's for sure. But don't take too many things off, or else she can be very dangerous Grin

You can take some wing off if you want, we wont mind  Wink

Hopefully see you all later on track, haven't raced a GT race this season and if I can beat the traffic and various other obstacles then I'll be there.

[edit] to say I mean beat the traffic on my way home.............................

Bah! this game is starting to get on my nerves.
Looked like it was going to be a good scrap with JonM but as I went off on the pace lap I realised I had no FF whatsover.
Tried to continue but promptly went off at T2 - its amazing how useless I was without it and goes to show that, for me at least, feedback is a big part of controlling the car.

Went to box and plugged in and out the momo which gave me a kind of static/dead feeling FF but my brakes were on all the time - its a reversed axis thing, long story.
Really p***ed about it as I always enjoy Oschers and its the one track where I have good pace in the 550.

Hope you all have fun I'm off to watch Italy win the footie.....

Was looking like a good comeback race for me with my restored internet connection. 3rd on the grid was a real treat, thought it would be a probable top 5 from that position.

I saw Mo go off right in front of me and then two corners later on the very fast sweepy/swooshing left hander where you go out wide onto the run off area to cut back I just caught the grass and off I went. Damaged front splitter. Mo and I entered the pits together which I had a good laugh at and when I rejoined I came back out into the mid-field and a lap down. Tough luck Mo on your troubles.

Knew i was faster than the midfield so was readying myself to pick my way back up the grid unlapping myself and hopefully with some good luck later on I would make some reasonable points for the team.

I had followed my teamie Whitham in his Viper for a couple of laps and was still sizing up how to get by him safely. Then as we started another lap I was right behind him, but he broke a little early into T1 which caught me out. I slammed on the anchors as hard as I could, but knew it was futile, pounced for my keyboard to hit ESC but didn't quite get there in time and hit his left rear quarter.

Absolutely gutted at hitting my own team mate. Very sorry about that, completely unintentional and ruined your race as well. Very bad for the team. I hope Ruskus did better.

Not a very good comeback race after my enforced 2 week layoff.

Really gutted Sad From the races I have raced this must be the #1 worst ever. With just 14 minutes to go my internet connection cut off Sad

Qualified 7th if I remember correctly. I was running 4th early in the race when I ran wide in turn 4 leaving me no choice but giving TT a free pass. Then Ruskus came from behind who was a lot faster than me so I had to let him go at some point. Racing in 6th TT ran wide in the last corner giving me the 5th spot back. Then I ran wide again in turn 4 leaving TT enough time to get his spot back. Then with only 20 minutes to go I decided to take it a bit easier after which my internet connection failed on me once again with only 14 minutes to go.

Some nice times in qually by the way Jonm and Mo thumbup1

Oh man, that was hard, keeping the fan turned on the whole race, pffff, totally out of breath now.

And to answer your question quickly Shark....no Smiley

First time for me at Orschers in a GT car. Great track, but I couldn't see where to win that extra time.

I don't know what you have mounted on your car Truetom, but the flashback i had during the chase, became all too real.

Remember Brno, last lap, even last corner. I was gaining time on you when...BOOM, bye bye engine.
Sadly to see, it happened again chasing you. And this time with only 1:45 on the clock Shocked...BOOM.
I didn't expect that. At the endurance race at Imola I was pushing the car almost the whole time, and it didn't go. Eventhough it has straights and hard brake points.
That's why I go with the Lister, cause it can cope with my agressive drivingstyle....guess not  :'(.

Shame, had a fun race. Worst thing is the teampoints I missed this way (5th place). The driver championship is not important for me in the GT class, as I joined halfway.

Well I enjoyed that. I am a slow driver and I didn't expect to be competitive but I was surprised not to be last on the grid. Maybe Mark didn't set a time or something because I didn't see a list of times. Have to apoligise to Lococtus (sp?) for the formation lap incident. I took my eyes off the road to set up my pedels a little more comfortabley and then I seen your brake lights. Tried to avoid it but contact was inevitable. I hope no damage was caused to your car.

I think I stayed out of most peoples way throughout the race. I had no business holding up the leaders and I don't think I did.

Anyway, I'm happy to have stayed to the end and salvaged some points on my first outing. I just hope I didn't break any rules.

I seen that Ruskus, bad luck. Funny enough, I was thinking to myself with about 2 mins left, "I wonder if I get points for 7th? I'd hate to think not. 6th would leave me feeling comfortable but that's not going to happen with me 6 laps down" and then, I seen black smoke at the chicane. Hard luck though, I would have rather you finished.

Bringing the rev limiter down a notch or two helps with engine life.. they usually blow quite consistantly i.e blow at roughly same time for each rev limit for example 7800 30min, 7700 about 60min, 7600 90min. Think it varies with different cars but usually lower limter gurantees no engine failure, just matter of finding out how long for each limit!!

Good race, poor qualy, new setup .. always makes me laugh when a few go off on first few laps cause of cold tyres.  Tongue Nearly went off a couple of times but kept it together to finish 3rd behind Greg who I followed all race.. was getting close at end and might have sneaked a pass but made small mistake and lost few hundred meters on last lap. I always short shift. Especcially in first and second because usually if I floor it in those gears I spin out of control and it happened a few times in the race, usually coming out of slow corners (hairpin, T4). I never let it go to far into the yellow on the limiter so hopefully I'll be safe.

Good race for me. Just nipped in for pole from Mo by 0.06 I think. It was a good battle. I was expecting more of the same in the race but it wasn't to be Sad You've got no chance without FF at oschers. Unlucky Mo. The race went well, there was no pressure on so I could just lap at a nice pace without overdoing it. All the backmarkers were great at letting me by. Nice stuff letting us through Paddy, every time I came up to you, you made it clear which side I should go down etc. thumbup1 was easy to pass.
Only ever blown the lister once. That was at spa with limiter set to 6800.  was 6500 today.

I think I had my gears just a tad too short. I was in max revs just before the overhead thingy. So mayne 1s in full revs.
But at Imola I didn't lower the rev limiter as well, and it held fine. That's why I thought it would do perfect in a race half as long.
It always happens at the same time. When I'm behind somebody at the end of the race and I'm gaining on him. I should either lower the max revs, or lift off at upshifts. I can't remember blipping too much, I was paying attetntion to that.
Oh well. Grats to winner (dunno who Smiley)
