Shark is following Whitham into T1 and is caught out by the difference in braking points. Shark realised he was going to rear end Whitham and pressed Esc, unfortunatly both cars went off as a result of the contact.

  • Simon Gymer (Shark)penalty — Rear end collision. — 2 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Yes and no. The single most important thing is still the driver. I would say a setup can tone a driver's time, but the driver is still the one that sets the time.

Driver is important, reaction speed .. but also I think a good brain is just as important.

I reckon you have to get to the stage of 'pretty good' before the set-up's matter too much, as long as they aren't miles from where they should be.

The set-up is never going to compensate for getting the wrong line, brakng too early/late etc. etc. etc.

I'll check that out so. I don't usually bother with set ups or anything. I just like to get in and drive. Do setups prove to be a big factor of setting good lap times?

With a few exceptions such as as taking lots of wing off at Monza, changing the setup won't improve your times by seconds, an improvement of a few tenths is more realistic. However, changing the setup can make the car more predictable, allowing you to push with more confidence. You might be interested in the setups on the Team Shark site, they've been tweaked more for driveability than outright performance.

I agree with the Shark consultants  Tongue  that its mainly down to the driver and the driving technique. Setups are very much a personal preference whats fast for one driver may not be fast for another - everyone has their own driving style, which the setup may not suit.

Like Aagramn says the one thing that setup has a big effect on though is the consistancy of the car over race distance. Managing the tyre temps with camber and pressure changes will greatly affect the temp of the tyres. If they are getting too hot then they'll wear away pretty quick, resulting in a big fall off in times, or just falling off full stop.
So if there's one area I'd recommend to play with its the tyre pressures and cambers - its pretty much all I ever change.
Drive 5 laps on the tyres before even thinking of looking at the temps though.

I wouldn't bother with the BIG zip file there. The fully tweaked, driveable F360 and Morgan setups are worth it as they make the cars imho much easier to drive which leads to better race pace and less falling off.

My new Lambo and Mosler ones are only available to Team Shark members at the moment (but this really just means I haven't been arsed to package and post ont he website, so are only on our forums). If you want my latest existing setups of those two cars I'm open to providing them for anyone. I recently gave my new Mosler setups to TrueTom. Just goes to show Penguins need Sharks really. ninja

As for GT Legends setups, I haven't a clue, but my teamie Zacari is pretty good at GT Legends car setups.

Thanks for the answers. When I find time to practice at Estoril, I'll try tinkering with some setups.
