Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 216s

As Don enters turn 1 for the first time he is rear-ended by BigG, who seems to get caught out by the slower pace at the race start. With cold tyres and brakes it is important that drivers are extra cautious, and even though Don was slower than usual this was to be expected.
Because this is a first lap rear-ender the penalty is increased to 3 places, however in this case Don requests that no penalty be given, so I'm treating the incident as 'unreported' which means that no places are lost.

  • BigG ([RSms]BigG)penalty — first lap rear-ender — 3 places lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 282s

Jamera is closely following Gerald down the back straight and brakes slightly late as they approach the second chicane. Jamera locks up the unloaded front and slides into the back of Gerald's car sending him off.
Gerald has also requested that no penaly be issued.

  • Jamerapenalty — rear-end shunt — 2 places lost (plus 1 for penalty points)
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 624s

Whitham69 is following Gerald as they approach the tripple left hander. Gerald loses some speed on entry and Whitham tries to overtake on the second apex, which inevitibly results in contact with Gerald being punted off.
Whitham tried to get out of it by turning tighter but understeered into the side of Gerald's car.
Whitham then does the gentlemany thing and waits quite a while for Gerald to catch up and lets him back past to regain his position. Penalty reduced to one place.

  • whitham69penalty — over-ambitious overtake — 1 place lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 995s

Edza drifts wide at the triple left hander, gets onto the grass and as he drives towards the track to rejoin he cannot slow the car before coming to rest on the apex of turn 5. Picnic is just arriving and rounds the bend only to find the nose of Edza's car planted on the apex. This is a blind corner and Picnic could not have seen Edza's car.
Edza was caught out by the spoon shaped bend where the track turns at 180 degrees and this exaggerates the incident slightly.

  • Edza (edza)caution — rejoin at a more gradual angle

Server replay time: 2332s

Don is having a battle with Picnic and is chasing him down when the lapping cars of Truetom and Shark catch up with them. Truetom is patient and waits for Don to pull over but after 2 laps he is still behind.
At one point Don seemed to pull away slightly and again later Truetom was delayed by a rejoining Jamera. However there were several opportunites to let the cars pass but it is not until Don eventually drifts wide that Truetom goes through.
Don was obviously focused on the car in front but I believe that there were chances to let the lapping cars past. In fact if Don had let all the cars through at time 2226s he would probably have fared better and been able to use the lapping cars to his advantage when they caught Picnic.

  • Don (Don1)warning — holding up a lapping driver

Server replay time: 2523s

Truetom is defending 2nd place from Mark@[GP] and he runs wide as he approaches the final turn. Truetom gets a wheel on the grass and gets a bit sideways, rejoining the track at an angle right in front of Mark who has to brake hard to avoid contact.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 2533s

As they exit the final corner of the race Mark@[GP] gets a run on Truetom and challenges for 2nd place.
Truetom moves to the right and Mark goes left to try and outrun Truetom to the finish line. After Mark moves left Truetom then moves back across the track in front of him and Mark has to brake again to avoid contact.
Truetom should have chosen a definite line after exiting the final bend and this is clearly what Mark expects. At this point it was too late for Truetom to defend the position as Mark's move had alreay begun, and Mark's progress is definitely blocked by Truetom's actions.
Truetom does nothing outrageous and was not weaving but it is possible that Mark would have claimed second place and I am giving a one place penalty to reflect this, although it will not affect the race standings because Mark did not send in an incident report.

  • Truetom (truetom)penalty — blocking — 1 place lost (plus 1 for penalty points)
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 2539s

On the last lap Flybri splutters out of fuel as he exits the final corner. He keeps to the left to stay off off the racing line, hoping to make the last few meters to the finish.
Directly behind is Jamera, who is about to be lapped, and he also keeps left to allow the lapping cars of Pedro, JonM and Shark to pass.
Pedro is blindsided by Jamera's car and goes for the pass. He had no way to see Flybri stopping and even Jamera doesn't see it until the last moment as he was probably busy checking his mirrors.
Jamera swerves right in avoidance and contacts Pedro who has left very little room as he passes.
Pedro goes off and Jamera is bounced into the rear of Flybri's car, spinning him round into the path of the oncoming Shark who cant avoid him and he also goes off.
This incident was caused by several factors but ultimately the whole incident could have been avoided if Pedro had given more space while lapping Jamera.

  • Pedro[PL]warning — leave more room when alongside another car

Congrats to the mighty Mo. On top of a very classy pile. He's a Krawler you know.

.Collected SBG on lap 1 or 2 as he spun across the track, sorry mate just couldnt avoid you.

Bugger, I thought I was at fault and let you all back through  Smiley. Prolly was me and no worries mate.

Cause of that I lost contact with the same old faces and found some great fun with some new ones. Great fun with Flybri and BigG. Mind you, don't know who was off more often Wink. Great that we all avoided each other at all costs  I Am Not Worthy.

Only did tonight cause race elsewhere was cancelled but you may see me more often after that. Must do a bit more GTR practice though.

I am glad my driving is getting better after my long break from sim-racing. Qualified 2nd with a nice 1.26.xxx just behind Mo. Funny, I wasn't happy at all as I am still not 100% comfortable with close racing. Fortunately T1 was smooth and I slowly started to warm tires and wave my back at Rich_A trying to overtake me. I knew he would succeed as my consistency is not yet there and should have let him go. Blame the devil inside - I increased my pace and after several one-wheel-sand-sprays ended spinning my way off the track.

Rest of the race was quite smooth, yet my pace was gone. Apart from one tiny off-track event, all the driving was smooth. Note to all Radeon users - if you use the Catalyst drivers - stop! I have just reinstalled my system and decided not to install DNA drivers. Strange - even though framerate counter showed 70fps the gameplay was not smooth. Turning the rear view mirror helped a bit, but it is quite a necessary thing while racing - true Jamera?

Last corner, right before the end of the race was a bit diseaster. Lapped Jamera didn't notice me overtaking him (4 corners in a row... hope this was not a revenge for Anderstorp) and on a s-f line hit my causing spin. For a moment me and Shark who was following me had a duo-spin reminding the one from Mission Impossible 2 (pity Shark is not that pretty Cheesy). Lucky bastard ended up standing in the right direction...

Nevertheless - finishing 7th is not that bad. Nod that bad at all.

Thanks Picnic.
A great race for me, starting on pole and making it to the end with no mistakes, definitely my most consistant run so far Smiley
I was expecting pressure from Rich who I had been precticing with the other night and he was doing great times. But just in the dying moments of qual Pedro sneaked in a lap to put himself between me and Rich.
When the race started Pedro and Rich must have kept each other busy which allowed me to pull away and then just concentrate on bringing it home. Tyre temps were good for the duration and I only had one moment where I got the right rear on the grass on the triple left hander, but just held it.

Bad luck Ruskus on the momo, I had the same pedal probs after a few months and eventually binned them - absolute rubbish design beta1

As always excellent driving by the lapped cars, I always knew which way to go, alot of experience on the grid at the moment Cool

Fiercely competitive stuff Cool Hopefully I brought it home for a point Grin

The tap I got at the start didn't help my cause any and left me at the back of the pack (nothing new there anyway)
Blistering pace by everyone and the hardest championship by far me thinks.

Slight apologies to 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc, for not letting you through as quickly as I maybe should have done, I was engrossed in my own battle trying to nip Picnic at the end for the final point or 2.

Another up and down race. Unbelievable times in qualifying saw me only 10th on the grid with TrueTom in his usual place looking at my arse.

Early on I again fell off just after the swing out the right over the white lines. Luckily I didn't hit the barrier and ended up pointing the right way having hit no one and only lost 7 or so seconds, unfortunately for me quite a few places though.

Near the end managed to work my way up to 3rd ?!?!? with other people going off too and so on. I was right on TrueToms tail when we caught some traffic and that really bunched myself, Truetom, MarkGP and JonM up together. On the short right hander after the big swing out of the white lines we were all running together, nothing major in terms of lock ups or what not and suddenly my back end swung round. Very very odd, I did not lock wheels and was driving smooth and slowish behind Truetom. It was like the rear suspension broke or I hit an invisible bollard or something. That annoyed me as I had done nothing wrong to deserve it and it lost me a potential podium.

Last lap and there was a pileup out the last corner. Not very clever.

Excellent win Mo, outstanding pace.

If you got stutters I discovered that Hi-Rez cars make stutters occasionally, even on my 512mb card!! I use low rez for racing and hi-rez for replays ..

Check here http://forum.rscnet.org/showthread.php?t=186926 and here for orientation rate fix http://forum.rscnet.org/showpost.php?p=2295107&postcount=17 .. if you use this it affects world movement and g-force and best settings I found are about 25% world movement and 12% g-force.

Also anti virus programs can cause stutters.

Good race, did a PB in quali but was a scrappy lap. Knew my race pace was good, was pestering Pedro for a while until he spun .. was holding 10 seconds to Mo but then I got flipped by that fast chicane with the funny undulations. Went off into gravel trap, bumped the wall and waited for the dreaded 'Yea, looks like your splitters gone, yea your splitters gone,' but it never came thankfully - car didn't feel the same but managed a few 1m28's and finished somehow in 4th !! No sign of GTNDC for this one !!

I'll be verrrrrry interested to see what you think of that monitor Shark, been thinking of taking the widescreen plunge for a while Smiley

Well after taking the secret compartment out of the boot of my car (the bit with the jack and so on), I managed to squeeze it in and with a bit of force close the boot lid, drive home (including wife).

Fantastic monitor. Ignoring the widescreen aspect, the quality over my old monitor is noticable. Looks great. Widescreen, very cool indeed. So useful for Photoshop to be able to fit the entire car on one screen and racing games have that extra peripheral vision now with the extra width, very useful.

Dare I use an 'orrible phrase, "it's the dogs bollox". So far, VERY pleased with it and a worthwhile upgrade.

Yeah, Sorry Don, that was me, just a slight tap and round you went, wanted to say Real sorry then, but did not want to break the rules, felt guilty, after that was fighting for 12th for a long time, it seemed that there was always somebody to race, even after small small spins, which helped, but with 2 laps to go I lost it, hit the wall, and that was bye bye for me. Cheers for the fights SBG, FlyBri and forgot the other guys, opps sorry.

Sorry again Don. I WILL FINISH A RACE!, I WILL,  Cheesy PMSL

It's not the stuttering - the framerate is constant, yet it feels like 30fps rather than 70. DNA helped me last time. My card is X800XT PE 256MB ram.

Lol Jon, it was as we talked about before the race: I will wait for other ppls mistakes. And it happened. Qualified 11th right after Sharks wide arse  Grin

Then I was just driving and all the ppl went off. For 20 minutes I was following Grinsomat with M@rko constantly pressuring behind. Fortunately my F360 had enough power on the straights, though there were some tense moments where I didn't know if he'll make a move or not. Was looking into rear mirror, almost missed the braking points several times.  Grin

After Grinsomat spun M@rko started to push and I had to close at the corners to keep him behind. Very good driving M@rko, very fair and patient. Must see that replay, yes Whit, it must have been interesting to watch. Then (finaly) a bunch of others closed on M@rko and he had enough to do and I could make a BIG gap of 1 second.  Roll Eyes Then Shark overtook him, spun and it was M@rko again. Tyres were going and I had to slow down, conserve tyres for quick exits on the straights. Then timer stopped but I had to go another full lap as Mo was so far infront to have crossed the s/f line before the time passed. So, in that last lap my concentration was failing and I almost lost it in the last corner. Had to close on the s/f line to come 2nd.

Great race M@rko, Grinsomat and Shark. Too bad you couldn't push more Jon.
Grats to Mo for the win. But I feel almost the same as I would win.  Grin
