Moderator's Report

Server replay time: -3s

Whitham 69 makes slight contact with Aagramn on the formation lap.
Whitham stated that his dog had jumped on to his lap causing him to lose control. To complicate matters further there had just been a major contact between two other cars immediatly prior to this incident adding to the general confusion.

  • whitham69 — advice — Keep your dog out of the room when you are racing.

Server replay time: 356s

Whitham goes into the parabolica carrying to much speed, just misses Aagramn and goes off.
Unfortunatly Longskater follows Whithams example and goes for the overtake. He misjudges the required braking distance and collects Aagramn who is forced off the track.

  • longskater1969 (28th CDM Demonic Dan) — penalty — Over-ambitious overtaking attempt. — 2 places lost
  • whitham69 — warning — Over-ambitious overtaking attempt.
    For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

Server replay time: 854s

Dan Minton is following Locutos as the approach Ascari, he misjudges his braking point and drives into the rear of Locutos taking them both off.

  • Dan Minton — penalty — Rear end collision. — 2 places lost (plus 4 for penalty points)

Server replay time: 936s

TrueTom makes a mess of the chicane, runs over the kerb and rejoins the track at an odd angle. Longskater takes the correct line through the chicane and the pair make contact when TT rejoins.
Not much either driver could do about this incident once it started to happen.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 1073s

Evert has made a mess of the previous chicane allowing Aagramn to close up on him. Evert then makes a late move to the inside of the track to defend his position. This was potentialy a very risky manover which could have resulted in major contact between the two cars.

Server replay time: 1152s

Shark has made a mess of the chicane and loses a fair amount of speed. Firsty he runs wide giving the impression that he is going to carry on over the kerbs but then cuts back across the track.
Locutos who is following close behind takes the normal line through the chicane and can't avoid contact with Shark as he cuts back in.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 1164s

Locutos has a good run on Shark as they approach the corner and overtakes him on the inside. Dan Minton who is close behind also goes for the overtake on the inside line. Once Locutos is clear Shark turns in and moves to the inside of the track. Unfortunatly there is a slight overlap between Sharks and Dans car resulting in the inevitable contact.
I did feel that Shark could have left more room for Dan but equaly Dan should have lifted and pulled out of the move.

  • Dan Minton — penalty — Over-ambitious overtaking attempt. — 2 places lost (plus 4 for penalty points)
  • Simon Gymer (Shark) — advice — Give overtaking cars more room.

GT Sprint Cup - Season 3, Round 8 at Monza

Date: Tuesday 1st August

Practice 1: 8:30pm (10 mins)
Practice 2: 8:40pm (5 mins)
Qual 2: 8:45pm (28 mins)
Warmup: 9:13pm (2 mins)
Race: 9:15pm (40 mins)

Cars allowed: Any GT car or Corvette or Viper G2. (Seat Toledo is allowed but will not score points.)
Weather: Dry

Server: UKGTR GT Sprint S3
Password: Server Password is shown in the Password Board and is available to the relevant registered drivers.

Notes:
(1) Full-time drivers should aim to arrive during Practice 1.
(2) Reserve drivers should not connect to the server until Practice 2.
(3) It's best if all drivers can make sure they are connected before the Qualifying session as drivers on track during qualifying will not see cars that join after they are on track until they go back to the garage.
(4) See UKGTR Sprint Season 3 Info for general Season 3 info.
(5) Please make sure you are fully aware of the UKGTR Rules
(6) The season will be run using a UKGTR carpack v1.5 which will need to be installed prior to racing. Details of this pack can be found here.

Guys, would it be possible for me to enter this race? I have not entered any Sprint session this season, but have registered for the Endurance series.

Do i need to be registered for the Sprint series also?

If its too much bother then no worries.

Yes, but I've taken the liberty of adding you as a GT Reserve as the GT field is quite light at present - you should be able to get to the appropriate password forum now. If you want to join NGT Sprint too let me know.

Well apart from me 2 spins at the 2nd chicane(a place where many of my Lister parts have come to rest Wink) really enjoyed the race. Great pace from Zac and Greg. Nice end to the season with the higher than average GT turnout. Grats to Greg again on the Championship and on the Team title(provisionally).
Big thanks to all you guys that run the league. It's been a pleasure once again Cool Cool Cool Cheers Boys
