Yes, these SCX are a challenge to keep under control in the 1st infield corner Shocked

Shame Ziu was lost, but he seems to have pc problems Cry

I had miscalculated my fuel consumption so had to refuel a fourth time in the 2nd to last lap Roll Eyes

Thanks for a great evening's fun go to Phil and all who took part.  Grin Grin Also grats to Axel on a commanding win.

I felt really sorry that Ziu did not take part, he was obviously very quick in that Chapp 2D and was looking favourite to cross the line first after 90 mins.
I was able to stay with Axel for the first few laps by keeping myself just in the slipstream around the banking and then closing up a little through the infield section. Then I got a little greedy and almost ended my race after only 5 laps!! I tried to brake just a few mtrs later into T1 and made a complete Horlicks of the corner. I hit one of the concrete cones, spun the car around and went through the advertising hoarding to end up facing the wrong way and in the wrong gear  Undecided
I got going again and had discovered that I had only lost a single place to Andreas, but Axel was gone and was a distant memory. Over the next few laps I discovered that the contact with the cone at T1 had damaged something important and heavy braking into any corner became very exciting with a car that wanted to snap left or right, or both!!! I think I counted about 6 or 7 excursions into the barriers throughout the race.  Undecided

I was surprised that I managed to hold onto 2nd spot with the car problems that I had, but somehow I did. I was also very happy with my pitstop strategy which allowed me 2 stops on a slightly stretched schedule and a final stop that I could choose anywhere in a 5 lap window...just in case I was in a tight battle at the end.

FWIW   I think the Mk1 GT40 needs to be reclassified for some tracks like Daytona, because I found that it was at least 2 secs a lap faster than the Porsche which had to take one pitstop. On a more twisty track ( Brands Hatch ) I suspect that the Porker would be on top. But this was just a FUN race and it certainly was!

Wow! very impressive! 9 drivers covered 48 laps or more. I wouldn't have expected that many drivers would have driven that far.

It's a shame I missed it.

You know that some people are different
Now ain't that a crying shame
Now wouldn't it be a real drag if we were all the same
