Moderator's Report

The start of this race was a mess. This was caused by mclaessen who seemed to have forgotten the starting procedure. He drove off at a speed too high for a formation lap causing large gaps in the formation when the field came up to the start/finish straight.

Server replay time: 228s

Due to a glitch in GTR Maverick's car sunk into the track and came to a sudden stop. Shark was following him for a while and could not do anything to avoid Maverick.

More so as I saw I outpaced Shark and Louis in the race pace and I dare to say I could win, despite MJ being faster than Shark. Too bad he didn't show in NGT Sprint in Estoril.  Undecided

Big words little penguin.  Tongue angel

You forgot to mention that you will fall off at least twice in the Endurance race so no chance of beating Mark anyway. Besides Mark was slower than me, he just made it up in the pitstop.  Kiss Kiss Kiss laugh

And Endurance is just two stints of Sprint with the pitstop.  Tongue

What did you mean with "You forgot to mention that you will fall off at least twice in the Endurance race so no chance of Beating Mark anyway" ?

I was easing you into a false sense of security.  Wink Cool I always hold back in races as I believe in "to finish first first you must finish".  I Am Not Worthy I can turn on the heat when I want to, but I tend not to want or need to based on the above principal. whistling

And Endurance is just two stints of Sprint with the pitstop.  Tongue

I wish that were true. Concentration levels are a big factor in 80 mins especially in the current heat wave. There is also more more in the way of tactics required for endurance races. Managing tyres to do a stint effectively, including taking into account having the tyres over your opposition at the end of the race when they are most vunerable. You can't do the same pace for the entire race so it's picking and choosing the right moments to drive to the level you need to to perform to the level you want.

What did you mean with "You forgot to mention that you will fall off at least twice in the Endurance race so no chance of Beating Mark anyway" ?

Friendly rivalry TT, equivalent to a poke in the ribs.  ninja

Ah, ok, didn't get it really.  Cheesy  Gets to be a habit lately.  Roll Eyes

Friendly rivalry, right, I'm allways up for that.  Grin

I agree, Endurance is more than 2xSprint. We're all getting better and better in that. I expect the driving model in GTR2 will add more possibilities of this in the comming races!  sweatdrop

This years NGT championship is really great with each of the top 3 effectively missing one race so far (my non attendance, your disco and Luis's exlusion for not knowing about the pit stops) it's so very close. Then Mark and Pops only 1 win behind the top three ready to pick up the peices if one or more of the top 3 have difficulties of whatever nature.

2 of the final 3 rounds being at new tracks could really throw things into the air, which is quite exciting for the championship. I dunno about the rest of you but I've not run any practice at Jerez because of all the other racing I'm doing at the moment, rFactor, GTL and GTR and all the car skins I've been doing behind the scenes. Have no idea what is going to be fast or not come Sunday so it could be interesting as people learn the track fully even during the race, you could see the pace pick up as the race progresses I reckon. Jerez is also not a circuit I'm familiar with unlike a lot of the addon circuits, I do have experience at most of them in one game or another (including Suzuka).

Yeah, bloody top 3, can't you have the decency to all disconnect so I can pick up a cheap win? Damn inconsiderate I call it  Grin

I wish I could say I've had 2 months of solid practice at Jerez but I haven't even downloaded the track yet and I'm taking Mrs Pops away for her birthday this weekend so don't expect much from me! (not that you do anyway Wink)

You're right though Shark, it's been a great series so far. What's been really nice is seeing everyone's different levels of performance at each track, the finishing order has been quite different each time.
