Took an Elan, and just managed to break the 2 minute barrie in qual. Had a good clean enjoyable scrap with PRibero (E-Type), Mooman (Elan) and Shark (E-Type). The end of the race was a bit of a nightmare though. Within a short space of time, and while I was in the middle of my own battle, I was lapped by the leaders, lapped some backmarkers, and was passed by a Cobra unlapping himself. All a bit hectic, just about manged to get though unscathed after taking evasive action a few times.

Think the spread of performance of the cars was too great really, for safe and competitive racing.

Thanks for a good race guys, tried my best to stay out of the way of the front runners. Had a good battle with Jamera i think for a few laps for 19th or 20th position, but kept losing out to the sideways happy corvette - it got the better of me in the second half of the race - wish i had gone with something else now...

Anyway, a great race, a great turnout - thanks to everyone who drove tonight  Grin

Good race
Had a nice battle with LeH - I had no realistic chance to keep in first position though as the GT40 is better on the brakes and cornenring. After getting passed I tried to repass straight away on the exit, but the run to the chicane wasnt long enough to be able to pull it off.
I than tried to keep close and was managing to stay close for many laps, but I than got dissapering cars for a moment and slightly touched LeH - sorry for that - your car suddenly was closer than before and I couldnt do anything. After this mistake I was a bit further behind and the gap started to rise slightly after that. There was also lots of traffic and I tried to not disturb the battles too much - and I almost lost it into the chicane (I had to be very careful because I allready had two cuts warnings by than)
I still am very happy with the result - pole and best race lap with final second position.
In qually I flashed my lights at Gymer - I am sorry for that - it was basicly a reflex from the races (allready concentrating heavily by that point). I realised I cocked up and therefore stopped and let you continue with your lap.

well... i certainly screwed that up. Decided to do a 1 stop strategy because I didn't know whether my tyres would last. Pity I had a bit of a crash the lap before I came into the pit. I entered the pits, and accidently fixed the damage yet I didn't put any fuel in. I sat in the pits while the pitcrew repaired my car for 126 secs.

Came in again 2 laps later because of no fuel, and put what I thought was 10 laps in... but no, I had put in 10 litres or something stoopid. So back 2 laps later and putting proper fuel in! By then, 3 laps down!! Smiley

That AC cobra was a handful, not tried GTL in such a long time.... think I might have to take part in this more often so I can brush up on my skills! Smiley

Thanks for avoiding my spinning AC Cobra chaps Smiley

P.S. Note to self... turn on incar chat so you know whats going on at the start Smiley

I agree, there was a very clear dividing line between the 2 classes.

Next weeks race should be closer. Something slightly different - Only the slow 76 cars allowed!  Grin Grin Grin

Many leagues consider the GT40 as a 76 class car -- even our points scheme has it mixed in w/76ers.  Definitely outclasses the other GTC-65 cars (except Pero in a Cobra... Tongue).

I couldn't pull off a good qual time, but it was enough and I pretty much knew the order before starting out anyway, no real surprizes.  The race itself was pretty boring since the 2 aliens took off at an amazing race pace and ASSASSINO & I were out in front of everyone else.  The GT40 is still a good handful, though, and did its best to keep me honest -- especially those last 3 laps, wowsa.  Kudos to the lappers, very clean from what I saw.

Missed Ruskus today, though!

Probably my most enjoyable race to date. There was a bit of a scuffle on the formation lap between a big gap being opened up, people accelerating hard to catch up then braking hard I got caught out and spun to the back. Tbh he probably did me a favour, because I actually got a chance to race this time around rather than putting in laps on my lonesome. For the race I uppped the gear ratios to save my engine on the long straight, but this turned out to be a mistake since I had poor acceleration and probably lost about 1 1/2 seconds or so a lap. I had a bit of a fight for a few laps with will16v. while I was faster than him over most of the circuit, I could only get by out of the first corner which he easily made up again on the straight.

Sorry for crashing into bill when he spun early on out of the final chicane, I was too close to avoid hitting:(

Missed Ruskus today, though!

How sweet Kiss Grin.

I broke my pedals of my DFP. I had the 80% bug last GTR race. I openend the pedals up and the wires of the pods were almost broken. Only the plastic was holding them together. I went to the shop today, but they only had a different version of the DFP, so I said no. Now I'm gonna have to wait for a whole new DFP which will arrive in 2 weeks I hope.
I tried using a gamepad but that was awefull, I had no idea what to do with it  laugh.

the slow one? I'm confused!

There are 2 types of Capri in GTL. One is the brown yukkie one which is slow and the other is the fast white and blue one. The brown yukkie one is the one available next week if you want to use a Capri.
