Moderator's Report

Greg130 and Leh made repeated, unnecessary contact throughout the race. We have checked the whole replay of their race and besides a single incident that will be dealt seperately later, virtually all the incidents stem from what appears to be a nasty case of Red Mist on Greg's part.

Incidents reported by LeH at 525, 947, 1178, 1268, 1531 and 1627 seconds have resulted in Greg130 being excluded from the race.

Greg has admitted to retaliatory tactics which he understands were wrong; unfortunately Greg is not here to defend himself as he is on holiday. We find Greg's driving in this race to be very poor and fall a long way short of his usual very high standard, and therefore feel that we are left with no choice but to exclude him.

We hope other drivers will take note here that we will not tolerate any sort of revenge driving or deliberate ramming from anyone including teammates; SimRacing.org.uk expects drivers to behave appropriately during races held on their server and not act like a lot of drivers on the public servers.

There was a lot of subtle corner cutting going on, most notably at Sablieres and on the run to Parabolique; all drivers are reminded that you must attempt to keep two wheels on the circuit, that is, between the white lines at the edge of the track, or the painted curbs.

Server replay time: 307s

Dan Minton is in close pursuit of LeH along the start/finish straight, Dan brakes a little too late locking up and taps LeHs' rear sending him wide and into the gravel trap. Dan has accepted full responsibility in an incident reply.

  • Dan Mintonpenalty — Late braking resulting in rear impact — 2 places lost (plus 1 for penalty points)

Server replay time: 980s

LeH gets a good run on Greg coming to the Parabolique, LeH looks to be making for a wide line in but the gap closes rapidly as he moves into it and he runs into the back of Greg, who is moving smoothly across the track on the normal racing line in preparation for the braking point, taking them both out.

  • Racing incident

Good result for me, made a stupid mistake AGAIN and clipped Leh on the second lap going into turn one . Lost too much ground to Pero and Baracus in the incident but managed to get passed a couple of people and and claim 2nd after Pero's misfortune ,bad luck mate.

Grats to Baracus on the win

Another Escort engine blower here.
I kinda forgot that it will do that with normal damage as well. Really wanted to drive it so didnt even consider taking the BMW. I did however test both and acctually found that the Alpina was slightly faster - was very suprised when I got a 1:28.8 on my first lap with it and than got a 1:28.0 after a few laps. Still opted for the Escort as it feels much more alive and dosent give you that strangled feel to the engine.

Anyhow - did a decent time in qually and was able to keep in the very low 28's during qually. Was doing well in the race leading infront a fast Baracus. We werent much appart and after the first backmarkers I started to get away just a slight bit. However I than noticed that I didnt have the right responce on the upshift anymore and I knew I was in trouble. I looked back and sure enough there was slight smoke behind me. I than started nursing the engine, didnt rew it so high anymore and tried to shift really carefully. Soon Baracus passed me and it wasnt long till my engine siezed up completly(even had to switch to neutral to roll off the track).
Oh well - next time I will know better  Tongue

Well, now I know why nobody took the Capri 2600RS. Slow slow slow! Didn't handle too badly most of the time but the Escorts did rather gobble me up on that long main straight, and once the suspension was upset it was virtually unrecoverable. Wish I'd taken the GT40 instead - nobody else did.

Had quite a good dice with Phil K for a while until my tyres turned to molten lava. Sorry about the touch into T1, Phil, was very strange that, I pulled off to the side to try and tempt you into another mistake, braked at the usual place, then suddenly it was like you'd snagged an arrestor cable and I was suddenly alongside and then exchanging paint. Huh Very confusing!

Also whoever that was lapping near the end (Mooman?), I braked a bit early and very hard into T1 to let you by and suddenly the rears locked and I was virtually broadside across the track. Shocked Hopefully there wasn't any contact.

No harm done:) I was surprised to see you get along side since you seemed to brake earlier than me, but I managed to keep it together. It as a fun scrap while it lasted, but once I got a bit of breathing room to relax a bit the escort proved itself over the capri. I was pleasently surprised to get it to the finish without a spin.

Its okay you didn't hit me:) I was having some brake trouble of my own by that stage of the race and ran really wide at turn one a couple of laps before.

Strange, what was wrong with it Dave.

I'll be back Cool. My DFp is broke so I'm waiting for a replacement. I haven't driven GTL for 2 weeks now so I'll be a backmarker by the time I'm back. So just flash your lights when you lap me.
