Season 36 1967F1 – Round 2 –  Interlagos - Juniors

Season 36 is a joint series between GPL Brazil and UKGPL. This post is for the Junior division.

Autódromo José Carlos Pace, also known as Interlagos, is in the city of São Paulo, in the neighborhood of Interlagos. It is named after Brazilian Formula One driver Carlos Pace, who died in a plane crash in 1977. It has hosted the Formula One Brazilian Grand Prix since 1973.  The race won by defending Formula One World Champion and São Paulo local Emerson Fittipaldi. Fittipaldi won the race again the following year in bad weather and Brazilian driver José Carlos Pace won his only race at Interlagos in 1975.

There are a few different version of this track available, please use the 1970 version, as per the link below.

Server = UKGPL10
IP = 217.155.118.41
Race date = Sunday 02 February 2020
Time = starts no later than 21.00 UK time.
Track Directory - Link
Race length = 17 Laps (50 minutes)

Each reset (irrespective of fault) must be followed by a Stop & Go in the pit lane within two laps of the incident. If a reset is required on the last lap a time penalty will be added. Failure to take a Stop & Go will result in a time penalty. Any driver taking a more than one Reset will be disqualified..
This season, races are to be run at 60 frames per second – please use the 60 fps patch

After the last 2 races without a lap,the revenge is arrived with a good second place.
I'm quite surprised because was a race without error and without engine blow.

! know!  Cheesy

Congrats though,  too quick for me.
A couple of times towards the end I managed to get a few fastest sectors & I appeared to be getting slightly closer;  until you cleared whatever corner you were on!

However, Eric was storming behind & reeling me in.  I must have just done enough to stay ahead;  but I thought he'd swallow us both!

Congrats up the front to Ricardo - great times there!

Cheers,
Dave.

About half-way through I was running 4th and holding position without pressure behind me. Then the engine began smoking, causing me to do an immediate reset and head to the pits for a stop and go. I came out in 6th, then screwed up a corner a few laps later, losing two more places. From a really nice, error-free run to 8th place in a matter of a few minutes. It reminded me of the old joke: How do you make God laugh? Tell Him your plans.

Hello Pepe,
I know you are a very clean driver but, during the last lap, it seems you were very tired when Andreas and me overtook your car ... !

I think that at least Axel & Andreas also had a freeze during the qually/practice session.

From chat afterwards, may have been a couple of disconnects from the senior race too.

Cheers,
Dave.

I'd gone off the track and hit the barrier a little earlier, and the car seemed to be responding in a weird way. But you're right: I was trying to get out of the way of both of you and did a very poor job of doing so. I do apologize.

Repeating my performance at Monaco I made a complete hash of lap 1. First I span in Curve 2 & ended up running across pepe's nose (sorry) & then lost it 2 turns later. I was dead last but several cars had problems or retired in the next few laps until I inherited 5th. I gather that most people are driving all the cars to get bonus points. I am hopeless in the Honda so I am sticking with the red one except for Spa.

Just in case anyone is unsure, the bonus points for pole position and fastest lap will be added when the race is moderated. The mechanism for adding the points is the same one we use for penalties so we can't add the points until the moderation is completed.
