Season 36 1967F1 – Round 3 – Willow Springs - Juniors
Season 36 is a joint series between GPL Brazil and UKGPL. This post is for the Junior division. For Round three we visit Willow Springs International Motorsports Park. It is located in Willow Springs near Rosamond and Lancaster, California. Willow Springs is a historic race track, in existence more than 60 years. It is the oldest permanent road course in the United States. Construction began in 1952, with the inaugural race held on November 23, 1953. The main track is a challenging 2.5-mile (4.0 km) long road course that is unchanged from its original 1953 configuration. The interesting elevation changes and high average speeds make it a favourite of many road racing drivers. Server = UKGPL10 IP = 217.155.118.41 Race date = Sunday 16 February 2020 Time = starts no later than 21.00 UK time. Race length = 35 Laps (50 minutes) Variant = 1967 60fps patch used 60fpsV2newmod Damage Model = Intermediate Qualifying time = 30-45 minutes Replay Available = here
The Juniors championship has Intermediate damage model. Every driver is permitted one reset. Each reset (irrespective of fault) must be followed by a Stop & Go in the pit lane within two laps of the incident. If a reset is required on the last lap a time penalty will be added. Failure to take a Stop & Go will result in a time penalty. Any driver taking a more than one Reset will be disqualified.. This season, races are to be run at 60 frames per second – please use the 60 fps patch
Driver lists and divisional rules including rules on car selection can be found on the Championship Standings page
There is no Red Zone. Moderating will be on reported incidents only. Remember that lap 1 incidents carry an additional penalty place.

I have been playing this game driving this sim since the week after it came out in the fall of 1998 and today without doubt was the most exciting, thrilling combat that I have ever been involved in. Phil found a way at some point to start crawling up my BRM's exhaust pipe with the nose of his Cooper and we stayed planted like that until the checkered flag waved. It seemed as if it lasted 20 laps, though it might have been 200. There were probably not more than three times where you could not have covered the two of us with a king-sized sheet. How we were that close for that long at those speeds and never touch will forever be for me one of life's eternal mysteries. That was just g.r.e.a.t.

It was a great race Pepe, I can't remember another race where I had to work so hard for a 7th place! I was on the edge of adhesion the whole time, the track is very slippery. The replay is definitely one to keep Well done on a fine race.

Another race where I screwed up the opening lap. Mistakes on lap 1 & 2 cost 40 seconds & possible podium. (Not pretending I would have got near Eric.) The rest of the race was incident free. I made up a few places when other drivers span or went wide. Managed to close up the gap to Dave C at the end - neded another 5 laps to make that interesting. Nice track - at least when you stay on it.

Hi All,
firstly congrats to Eric and fellow podium places.. nice drive. also a very tidy and sensible start.
I only had a slight issue, turned in for one corner and cut into Ricardo who just clipped me.. Sorry Ricardo, I hadnt noticed you in my mirrors and I was a running a touch wide too. as usual it was a tiny tap but GPL sent me into orbit. LOL. I was very suprised that the car seemed fine and I didnt need a reset. car was fine for many laps, I did manage at one point to catch and get involved with Pepe and Phil, they were having a great race. all was fine for a couple more very enjoyable laps then although its seems a slippy track, I was cooking the tyres a bit by then. managing to run 3 to 4 seconds faster than my offline practice times which im very happy about, but the better pace, longer distances and extra fuel took its toll
that and lack off skill .. LOL
Made me spin a few times. back end of the car just wanted to overtake the front end .... as it does!
So really enjoyed this one. Started from my usual lowly grid position, which suits me fine.
allows me to not cause any accidents, gives me a chance to miss others !! and gives me a much needed chance to settle down, etc, etc.
all in all went well and and proved to me Im improving. I have not raced online with you guys in a long time. Didnt realise how long until adding my player.ini to the GPL custom rank site (GPL Weekly). seems last time was 2013 ! WOW. as i say. long time.
no wonder Im a little rusty. but this track was very enjoyable. its a new one to me but thought it was superb.
so congrats fellas.. and heres to our next outing.
