  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 2040s

Exiting the right hander to come onto the back straight, JohnnyDee taps the back of Moomin causing Johnny to lose momentum. Shark gains rapidly on Johnny and theres side contact resulting in Johnny spinning out. The net cause of the incident was Johnnys loss of momentum after tapping Moomin.

Sorry Dave for not annoucing pit out in qualifying - i know came out into the racing line in front of you at low speed - driven like a true turkey Undecided
Also to the three drivers i ended up facing head on after the chicane before start finish line...woeful performance again by me...
I should start to pay more attention to setting up my car and practicing before the event, instead of playing 5 a side  laugh

Not to worry - turns out I only had 85% throttle which explains why I was slower than a slower thing which has taken double slow pills and then fallen asleep.

Not sure I can be bothered with GTL anymore. We'll see.

Even with a great battle today with Johnny Dee where we swapped positions countless times and with whom I had the slightest of side by side contact with him already controlling a bucket load of oversteer, I manage to somehow knock off, very sorry mate, I just found it utterly uninspiring. Waiting for the cars to go down the straights is like watching paint dry.  sleep1 Then with Pero coming round to lap me I brake early flash my brakes lights and go slow round the outside of the bend to let him through the stupidly crap 65 car with it's complete lack of any real grip just boringly slides off into the gravel with a pathetic whimper. I give up in disgust at how dull the 65 cars are. Maybe it's just the TC-65, but I'm just not enjoying GTL at all.

Hope you had more fun than I did.

See you in GTR.

Shark.

Sorry to the Alfa's behind me Shark and ? (p7+8) for most of the race. Hope you didn't get to hacked off behind me. To much power on the straights for them to get close enough to try any realistic manouver.

utterly pissed off at that race... I was treated so harshly by one particular car that was lapping me, that really got my goat! and further more... I got pushed off onto the grass on the straight when I was side by side with someone. Utterly hopeless race, and if that standard of driving is what this league is about... then to be honest, I can't be bothered with it!

I had surprisingly good pace there tonight. Probably between the practice and the decent setup I developed for the Donnington race  I managed to knock 2.5 seconds off my previous PB. Bit of a boring race driving around on my own, just trying to match the pace of the guy behind me so he wouldn't catch up.

I think I enjoyed that. Bit of a Mickey Mouse track but fun in the Mustang.

Pity that Woody we were having a bit of a bash before that. Very sneaky pass as I was letting leader through  Cool  Looked like the falcon drifted a bit wide, I was hoping you could save it  cause mr race after that was very borring  Sad  4 ex PROLES at the back as well.

That was me behind you the whole race, Mooman, lol!  Sorry for the taps but that Mustang is hard to guage -- at least I got most of them right and fortunately no harm to your drive.  Wink  I was really hoping your tires would wear out and you would get JUST that little extra speed into T1 to carry your (wide!!) rear end around and let me by!!  Good driving on your part kept that from happening, of course.

Shark, I think you were on the middle gearing?  I was on short and you can see how except for the end of the straight it has an advantage over the middle gearing, plus at the end of the straight I could brake much later.  Was great swapping places, wow!  "Bucketload of oversteer" <== Bucketload of understatemen!!

That was a very hard race, too bad we blew it at the end (me into Mooman, then Shark into me).  I couldn't get around Mooman's 'Stang w/out his permission so I figured we would finish in that order.  Oh, well; next race!

Sorry for that JDee I thought you guys must have been getting really frustrated especially when you got so close coming out of the tight bits. Then watching me sail away in my Yank Tank (God Bless America). Hopefully I won't get any daft ideas about driving cars that sound better but don't go to fast next time. I was really hanging it out in Quali to get as high a grid slot as I could as I knew it would be  near imposible to overtake me in an Alfa. Anyway I think the problem for people finding this particular race boring was just the nature of the track with the slow TC65 cars. Its always going to be a bit dull with such long straights and relatively simple corners. Brands should be much better as there is much more to the track. Blind entrys, off camber corners, tightening corners, etc. There is much more likely to be overtaking as its is a more difficult track to get right. Also the cars should be a bit more evenly matched as instead of just having two long straights you have a mixture of medium straights interspersed with various different angles and lengths of corners.

Give another track and the GTC 65 cars a go and if you still find GTL dull just leave it. I had a really good race at Magny Cours and the first half of Dijon so hopefully Brands should be better.

That had to be a missunderstanding Shark - I was leading by enough to let you have your battle with Mooman without disturbing and that is why I wanted to stay behind you in the parabolica. I didnt quite understand why you went so wide till I saw your post - kinda feel a bit guilty about that.
Otherwise I had a good race - pace was good and not too tough on the tires - still enough of rubber left at the end to do reasonably good times if necesary. LeH was keeping me honest though in the first half of the race and I had to keep it together, which is not easy at all with the crazy chicane. In the second part of the race I almost went into the tirewall in the chicane and I went wide a few times into T1, but I was able to keep it on the road.

Good result for me after Donningtons disco, Was a bit off my usual pace in quali but managed to get 4th, was very tight in the top ten.  Had a good battle with Assiano for a couple of laps but managed to get a run into the first corner. Tried to catch LeH but the mustang was too fast in a straight line.
Had a popup come out of nowhere about half way through and crashed me back to desktop, luckily i was on the back straight and got away with it.

Thanks to all the people who were using there mirrors when i lapped them, great driving. Wink

Cheers
