Big thank you to Lasse for the great season. I am really sad it has ended now as i had one of the best chases and battles in my career here. But we just need to wait for the next year's. Smiley

For race 1 i thought that i am fast in qualy until Daz show some muscles. He was definitely the fastest car and took the pole without problem. It was me and Markus fighting for P2. Unfortunately Daz had some problems and had to start from last row.

I was quickest on the start and took the lead. Daz was flying behind and was in P4 after few corners. He, Markus and Geoffers began some battles and i knew this was the moment to make some gap in front of them. But this didn't happen because they were a little faster than me. At some point Markus and Daz slowed down as i think there was incident between them. I decided to show fair play and i waited for them as well and we continue the battle.

Unfortunately Markus made a mistake and it was Daz breading all over my neck now. He was there for at least 7-8 laps before locking his brakes for turn 1 and spin. It was now going to be me versus Geoff. As he was faster maybe with saved tires at the end but i was able to stay in front and win the race.

In Q2 i just don't know what happen. I was terribly slow than the front 3, watching them beating fastest lap after fastest lap and i was 2 second behind. Cheesy Maybe it was based on wrong setup, or just the BMW was slower - i don't know but i knew i must do something to just try to be closer to them. At the end of Q i made some changes to the setup and i saw that i am with default engine rev limit. I put it on max but i knew this will give me just some tents more.

Fortunately i think i received some more tents from the other setup changes and now the car was just a little bit faster them in Q.

Once again i was quickest on the start and took the lead from P4. But i was thinking - this won't last long. But once again i had so much luck. Unfortunately a contact between Daz and Geoff from P3 and 2 put them out of the battle for the win and something happen with Markus as well.

So it was me at the lead with no one around. I knew the race is not over and that Markus will challenge so i just kept driving on the max.

It took Markus just 6-7 laps to make the gap from 6 seconds to just 1 and we started a great chase.

It was me now under big pressure as he was definitely faster. Bit this was the moment when i started driving at 110%. In the last laps i had great stint of 3 laps in a row making new personal Fastest lap of the race and 2 laps after that just slower where i won the race. The last 2 laps were not so good but i was able to stay out of trouble and win. I think Markus had worse tires then so that help me a lot.

And at the i was so emotional on the video after bot races - not because i was so fast and didn't had a lot of luck, but because in both races i gave 110% to win them. It was great feeling trying to jump over the cars potential.

Congrats to Geoffers and Daz for the podiums at Race 1 and Markus and Geoff for the podiums in Race 2.

Indeed a great series, even if I was one of the "also competed" drivers on the grid. I really enjoyed it most when we had a mix of classes and an interesting grid.

Grats to the championship winners and to last night's podiums.

Two very different races for me, mainly because I did zero practice ( again). I only downloaded the track with enough time to join the server and do 2 laps of quali before Race 1. My setup was wrong, the gears were wrong, but more importantly. I was wrong!! Undecided I had a pretty little Alfa which was intent on killing me at almost every corner. I held on until the leaders lapped me and retired to the paddock.  Undecided

Race 2 was much more fun.
I remembered that I had run the bigger Alfa before ( Monza??) and had somehow nailed a setup together that I liked. So I went digging and found it. If only the setup for the bigger Alfa worked for the Jnr!!  I was still learning the track when the race started but at least I was not last on the grid, I thought. By the time we all exited T2 I might as well have been last on the grid lol. I had a dismal start!!
But this car was much easier to drive and as others tested the depth of the gravel traps I picked my way through the field.
When I caught Dan and nocatu, also in Alfas, my progress stalled.  I felt that I could go slightly quicker than nocatu and Dan, after all I had chased and caught them. but there was no easy way past and I got too close in the tight Esses nudging nocatu's rear end.  After waiting for him we lost a couple of places, but then regained them a lap later as we passed a pair of cars playing in the sand pit.

The HUD was telling me that whatever had delayed Daz early in the race, was no longer a problem and he was taking chunks out of the gap between us. nocatu refused to make a big enough error that would let me through, until he eventually ran just too deep into T1 ( I think) and I was through.
The last 5 laps were intense fun as Daz closed the gap and sat on my bootlid looking for an opening. I just managed to make the Alfa wide enough to prevent him getting a run on me before the flag.

Looking forward to whatever Lasse dreams up for next year  Grin

Well these were a couple of exciting races, the twistiness of the track negating much of any power advantages.

Race 1, I was going to use the Bellet which had worked well at Aida but the gearing required for the straight made it awkward in the twiddly bits with the 4-speed box, so went with one of my favourites, the 1300 Escort. Didn't really expect to stay with the TCs, but when they started battling with each other I could keep them in sight & when Daz & Markus made errors I capitalised & nabbed 2nd place.

Race 2 in the Alfa looked like being a close race after qually & lap 1. DD got the jump on us at the start & getting past was going to be tricky with the BMWs better acceleration out of the corners. However on lap 2 I got a bump from Daz just as I was getting on the power out of T3 which sent my car around. Daz graciously waited & we set off to chase down the field. Had a bit of good fortune when Clive & Nocatu collided just as I caught them & eventually made it up to 3rd at the end. Needed a few more laps to catch the leaders.

Congrats to DD on his 2 wins & to Daz & Markus on the podiums.  clap clap clap

Big thanks to Lasse for organising & compiling this series, been great fun.  I Am Not Worthy thumbup2 Look forward to next year.

That was a fun couple of races. I opted for the Mini in the first race as it was the only car that didn't feel awkward around here. It felt fast but I was nowhere near Geoff and his amazing pace in the Escort.

For the second race I chose the Alfa as it was fairly stable and neutral but I didn't get the chance to practice as much so I wasn't particularly confident. Daz and Geoff had a desperate need to phone home so there was no catching them. Dan and Clive ,however, I could follow so we spent most of the race together and saying that the race was exciting would be an understament. Unfortunately I went off the racing line in T1 at some point and I realized that there was no grip there so I understeered into the gravel. The worst thing however was that being faster than I thought I would be, I used up more fuel than I had anticipated so I coasted during the last lap, running out of fuel at the last corner where I put it into neutral and reached the finish line.

Gonrats to Dimitar for winning both races, to Markus for the championship and to Nappe1 for putting this whole thing together, and thanks to SpecialKS for posting the results after every race. Looking forward to next year! Grin Grin

These were not my races. In the first race I was slow and I should have noticed Daz being beside me. I did not and it was my foult, that I crashed. But thanks for waitung Daz. After the crash my suspension was broken, so in T1 I braked too late and drove through the gravel. After that I was in P4 wich I drove home, Grats to DD, Daz and Geoff, Nocatu and Dan in the small class.
In the second race I lost the start against  an unbeatable Dimitar. After Daz and Geoff left the leading group I tried to catch him. But although I was slightly faster there was no chance for me to overtake him. Well done DD! You deserved the double win! Grats to Matt on the podium, And the podium of the small class: Geoff, Clive and Daz.
It has been a long season and I will not touch the wheel for many weeks.

Thanks to Lasse for the organzition of a very well planned championship, and thanks to all the great drivers for exciting races !!
